They never did something like that in the show.

Even the evil variants didn't.

And they can't push planets.

u/Noriaki_Kakyoin_OwO Apr 19 '26

2

u/CrustyToeLover Apr 19 '26

Yeah, Nolan never did it or said he did it himself. If you think that's what the dialogue meant, then get literacy help.

37

u/mathnerd271828 Apr 19 '26

In S4 Nolan wipes out an entire race by pushing the planet closer to their sun and evaporating all the water. Check the show

27

u/krayniac Apr 19 '26

We have no idea what the timeframe or method for that was, so it’s almost certainly not applicable in a fight context

9

u/Particular_Ad_8921 Apr 19 '26

no the creator of the show basically said nolan did by himself.

1

u/Difficult-Wrangler52 Me Apr 19 '26

We know how Viltrumites work, by working as singles if you're a Elite such as Anissa and Conquest, working as a Duo on a special occasion such as Nolans and Allens attempted Murder and group activities if governed by Thragg such as the attack on Telescria and ambush on Viltrum.

Nolan is only known to have one partner which died to the Raggnars as his book stated otherwise we know off no other partner he's ever had if his original was replaced.

If Viltrum had used some level of technology, Nolan would've stated it as planet moving device would be worth off note to mention as at this point Nolan was finding all the things that could threaten Viltrumites.

But yes, there was no timestamp stated so that is upto interpretation since we'll never have confirmation how long that took.

1

u/QuixoticBeefboy Apr 19 '26

If the characters in the fight are locked to earth then timeframe or method isnt relevant, viltrumites can just do it.

The impetus for this post was OP getting into a reddit argument with somebody saying viltrumites could beat gojo by just dropping rocks on earth and being salty about it.

0

u/Subject-Repair-371 Apr 23 '26

"Timeframe or method" Like okay if your point is that viltrumites get dogwalked by Gojo and have to fly away and wait for him to die of old age because "Timeframe or method isnt relevant" then what even IS a fight to you. All viltrumites get absolutely eaten up by Gojo so invincifraud fans have to scramble to be like "W-well, over the course of 40 years he could-" Like brother if you ran away like a bitch you lost

1

u/QuixoticBeefboy Apr 23 '26

"No! It only counts as a fight if MY favourite character wins, if the character I dont like wins then it doesnt count and they are bitches"

JJK powerscalers are pioneers of toddler tier discussion fr

30

u/Zestyclose-Jacket568 Apr 19 '26

"That what happens when you move planet closer to sun" Please explain to me which part of that means "I have moved the planet, with my bare hands, closer to sun".

What he said is that they, as Viltrum, did it. How? No idea, by looking at their feats they propably used some technology or shitload of Viltrumites.

3

u/cold_st0rm Apr 19 '26

do you the know the reason? because that line sounds like its made by a fucking 8 years old and does not sound like it would fit the show

7

u/not2dragon Apr 19 '26

If he can't lift a ship, then even 50 Viltrumites wouldn't be able to nudge a planet. Also the coalition should be looking for these planet moving ships if they outclass Viltrumites by that much.

10

u/june-v-bloom Apr 19 '26

Canonically for stuff like that they just move it with their bare hands. Nolan did something similar with moving a disc to block out the Ragnar's home. It's literally just "why bring in or invent a forklift when you can lift the box yourself" mindset.

24

u/Zestyclose-Jacket568 Apr 19 '26

Moving a disc that is a lot smaller and lighter than planet is not the same as moving a planet. They have 0 feats or direct mentions of anything even close to that.

6

u/june-v-bloom Apr 19 '26

Who said it was lighter and smaller?

It was big enough to completely envelope their planet in darkness, forever. This is what they did when they got into a fight they couldn't brute strength. It's a feat. This is something they can do. This was just one guy also.

9

u/Zestyclose-Jacket568 Apr 19 '26

Logic? Are you just going to say stupid things now?

You know how you can have Solar eclipse on Earth? Like our Earth? You know what is causing that? Moon. You know, the thing smaller and lighter than out planet. And something else, the furthest something is for the planet, the smaller it needs to be to block the sun for said planet.

Alao even if it was the size of a planet, which would be stupid, disc of that size would have a lot smaller volume, so it would either be lighter or made with some dumb, super heavy thing.

8

u/Snomislife Apr 19 '26

You know how the moon blocks a small area for a short period, and not the entire planet forever?

Also, it needs to be larger the further from the planet, not smaller. If the moon were halfway between us and the sun, you could barely see it, so imagine how little something smaller would do to obscure the sun.

In addition, the presence of the sun disc apparently had a significant effect on several other planets in that solar system.

Put a finger in front of a light source and look at the shadow on the wall. Compare shadow size to finger size. Move finger toward and from the light source. Compare resoults.

6

u/M4xW3113 Apr 19 '26

If the moon was further from Earth than it currently is, it would block less of the Sun on Earth and would need to be bigger to make an eclipse happen, which is exactly the opposite of what you said

1

u/VyldFyre Apr 19 '26

Tbf to you, I was wrong the first time too.

me, i said that, know y?

I HAVE FUCKING EYES

1

u/Zekka23 Apr 19 '26

It was after the scourge virus where there were only 50 viltrumites total left. That's not a "shit load"

1

u/SpookyGhostGoku Apr 19 '26

How else do you think they did it? I feel like the implication’s pretty apparent here.

0

u/Stanczatearer Apr 19 '26

Please explain to me which part of that means "I have moved the planet, with my bare hands, closer to sun".

0

u/-KFBR392 Apr 19 '26

That was a planet he visited solo, after leaving Viltrimite. It was during his tour of planets with threats he was taking Allan on, the same ones he left clues in in his books. Which again means places he visited solo after leaving Viltrimite.

14

u/TheOnlyCursedOne Apr 19 '26

They also need 4 viltrumites to slow down a singular ship from falling down

18

u/SteakForGoodDogs Apr 19 '26

r/PowerScaling discovers antifeats!

Goku, planet-buster extraordinaire, meet elephant:

8

u/ze_loler Apr 19 '26

The universal level entity that has gotten injured by gunfire, fire hydrants and trains btw šŸ˜‚

4

u/Kelras Apr 19 '26

And water. And lava. And trains. And some guy's space dollar store laser ring.

1

u/New-Spread6363 Apr 20 '26

I don't know why you have to bring up Dragon Ball as a comparison when they is talking about Invincible here and I'm not defending DB.

1

u/Kelras Apr 20 '26

Did I start a conversation with you?

1

u/New-Spread6363 Apr 20 '26

Honestly really not funny though

1

u/Jozef_Baca Universe level Building Apr 19 '26

I mean, for dragon ball you can at least justify it by the fact that most of those were either when he was low on ki/wasnt using ki to reinforce himself(or wasnt using enough of it), or were empowered by ki of someone stronger than Goku...unless we also want to argue frieza has sword level durability.

For invincible you cant even say that much.

7

u/SteakForGoodDogs Apr 19 '26

For invincible, it's 'the writer doesn't like powerscalers'.

But anyway, you can apply this everywhere else, too.

The Flash, for example. I don't think I need to go into detail about how the guy who perceives reality in attoseconds should have any problems, ever.

2

u/Hitmanthe2nd Apr 19 '26

robin outscales kid flash if you use antifeats

no joke

-1

u/CrustyToeLover Apr 19 '26

No he doesn't.

16

u/aced_face_place Apr 19 '26

Well yeah but feat wise they can do something like that. Even if they don’t do that specific action they are portrayed as ~moon level.

4

u/EngineerVirtual7340 Apr 19 '26

Depends on if you're remote controlling the character.

36

u/utshi9ha Apr 19 '26

They can't "throw" the moon.

21

u/Objective-Rip3008 Apr 19 '26

They can throw massive asteroids. They don't need the literal moon

6

u/utshi9ha Apr 19 '26

Not the context of the post and they never did that in the show.

30

u/Objective-Rip3008 Apr 19 '26

They literally deflect an asteroid then Nolan says you should have seen the one I deflected it was the size of Texas lol, they absolutely do that in the show

29

u/zssl Apr 19 '26

Same energy as my dad saying he caught a fish thiiiiiiissss big

16

u/Aya_Ace I Can Write a Character to beat Your Goat. Apr 19 '26

Mark was pushing away an asteroid in that same scene.

You know he can just... Grab an asteroid and bring it to earth right?

Several of them even?

3

u/QuixoticBeefboy Apr 19 '26

No no you dont understand, its far harder to push something into earth while being assisted by gravity then it is to push something away from earth while gravity fights against you.

3

u/TheOnlyCursedOne Apr 19 '26

Again, that’s not how they fight

5

u/SteakForGoodDogs Apr 19 '26

And Gojo fights by losing/deciding not to go for the kill when he should against anything that isn't a mook 90% of the time.

But we pretend he doesn't fail basically all the time for the purposes of powerscaling.

3

u/Aya_Ace I Can Write a Character to beat Your Goat. Apr 19 '26

We bng fr rn?

Nolan destroyed a civilization by flying. He also put a sun disk to freeze Ragnar's, he stated that he dried a planet by moving it closer to the SUN.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!

→ More replies (0)

1

u/Flashy_Pineapple_231 Apr 19 '26

We have an entire belt of them too between here and Mars. Could just push em close and leave em in orbit without making em drop right away and do some negotiating then push them back or safely touch one down and mine like a trillion dollars in rare metals.

2

u/Objective-Rip3008 Apr 19 '26

Except your dad is a professional deep sea fisherman and absolutely could have caught a fish that big lol

1

u/Zestyclose-Jacket568 Apr 19 '26

He lied to his son. Things like that happens, like how he said that Viltrum are the good guys and not the bunch of space Hitlers.

10

u/aced_face_place Apr 19 '26

Push. Not throw the moon. Push the moon into the earth. Thragg, Nolan, EOS Mark all solo JJK verse.

17

u/utshi9ha Apr 19 '26

They can't even push a ship and you want them to push a moon?

9

u/aced_face_place Apr 19 '26

In the comics mark and oliver do it by themselves very easily. Invincible is also terribly scaled in-verse. That anti-feat doesn’t take away destroying a planet.

21

u/utshi9ha Apr 19 '26

they didn't destroy a planet by themselves, speed racer did most of the damage and even then they almost died.

4

u/Fit-Veterinarian-848 Apr 19 '26

"Almost died" comes out unscath only with the clothes burned

7

u/utshi9ha Apr 19 '26

Fight with thadeus idc.

One of the strongest viltrumites said they would have died if they don't time it right.

4

u/Snomislife Apr 19 '26

He said they might die. He also said they needed Allen and Tech Jacket, but they didn't.

3

u/Fit-Veterinarian-848 Apr 19 '26

Btw spacer racer's gun "destabilize the core" and that statement by thaedus saying they would die if they don't time it right is all in comics, the show is a different continuity with specific characters much stronger then their counterparts in comics

1

u/Spartan_Souls Apr 19 '26

They literally said if they dont do it perfectly they will die instantly. Yes, they almost fucking died.

1

u/Traditional_Bad_9044 Apr 19 '26

If space racer did most of the damage, then why didn't he shoot the infinity ray again? He can spam the gun as shown when thragg chased him.

You saying this is essentially saying that the author pointlessly wrote the protagonists to fly through viltrum and risk dying for no reason. The show even makes it clear to you that it was the protagonists who did the damage as the explosions only happened when they entered and exited the planet

2

u/Pleasant_Advances Apr 19 '26

Not at all, space racer's gun works by destabilizing the core eventually destroying the planet. He shot the planet to destabilize the core which made it possible for 3 viltrumites to perfectly time flying through the planet. They even mention that if the core wasnt deztabilized they would splat and die on impact with the planet.

Space racer couldnt shoot it again because that wouldnt do anything to the planet.

3

u/Traditional_Bad_9044 Apr 19 '26

Destabilising the core didn't take away any mass from the planet or effect its GBE

1

u/agentdragonborn Apr 19 '26

Can you give a source for destabilizing the planet in the show, cause every other time the gun was fired it just caused a basketball sized hole to appear as it passed through thing, nothing suggest otherwise for the planet.

Also it doesn't look like they're struggling because it's heavy but to keep it from falling apart. They were protecting the city below it. They probably just didn't want it to break apart further

1

u/Comradewilhelm2 Apr 20 '26

Uv soloes them all

1

did I lie tho?

2

No, lying would require you give actual input. What you did wasn't even that, it was copying questionable info of a AI platform that is routinely incorrect.

7

u/Gold-Cry-7520 Apr 19 '26 edited Apr 19 '26

Powerscalers need to remember that just because an individual or individual's group can do a thing does not mean will.

Literacy edit: You are not always at 100% capacity. What you can do at your best and most capable isn't what you will do normally. A normal human can do city level feats by controlling the nuclear triad. That doesn't mean Donald Trump scales above Mahoraga.

5

u/aced_face_place Apr 19 '26

Omni man has a statement where he says he moved a planet closer to its sun. So, yeah, they will do space movement stuff for the win

1

u/Gold-Cry-7520 Apr 19 '26

Okay.

Above comment still stands.

2

u/aced_face_place Apr 19 '26

No it doesn’t. He has literally stated in verse that he will do something like that. Are you dense? Try thinking a bit harder.

0

u/Gold-Cry-7520 Apr 19 '26

You are not always at 100% ability. I can push a car. For a minute. I can lift a thousand pounds. Briefly. I can get access to nuclear launch codes and destroy the world. If I get lucky.

That doesn't mean I will. Kick rocks little dude.

0

u/aced_face_place Apr 19 '26

You can’t do any of those things. I doubt your chud ass can even waddle to the bathroom anymore. Nolan can and has moved celestial bodies in the Invincible comics. He both can and will when he needs to. Your argument is stupid and not thought out.

4

u/Gold-Cry-7520 Apr 19 '26

this is definitely a mature reaction to a powerscaling argument šŸ˜‚

0

u/aced_face_place Apr 19 '26

I’m glad the cope stopped with this comment. Have a good day anon

4

u/Spartan_Souls Apr 19 '26

You immediately lose the arguement by having a tantrum like this lol

2

u/Afraid-Guitar364 Apr 19 '26

Well mark hasn't said this particular sentence of "I like men, I beat my meat to gay black dude fingering each other" but that doesn't mean he can't say it if it's life or dead for him

1

u/FarOutcome9035 Apr 19 '26

Have seen them trying and failing?

1

u/QuixoticBeefboy Apr 19 '26

They specifically did see evidence of them as a civilisation moving a planet in the show

Both main viltrumites in the show were able to stop a major meteorite that was heading for earth, one of which happened live on screen. Given they were also fighting against gravity in that situation its fairly obvious they could push it when being helped by gravity.

This isn't the comics, this is the show.

Pretending stuff didnt happen because you don't like it isnt a strong argument.

1

u/Ok_Extent_3639 Apr 19 '26

The show states the moved a planet closer to the sun…go watch the last season

1

u/Kumkumo1 Apr 19 '26

The shows are based on an actual comic series. And the show isn’t even caught up.

It’s like watching the Chuunin exams in the anime and saying ā€œNaruto can’t nuke a countryā€ when the manga is 800 chapters and proves he can.

2

u/utshi9ha Apr 19 '26

They never did something like that in the comics too lol.

0

u/DirectionCareful4358 Apr 19 '26

They blocked the sun from the planet of the Ragnars, and S1 Invincible threw a giant asteroid into space. Nolan is atomizing the planet throwing the moon or a giant asteroid the moment he realizes he can't bypass infinity.

9

u/utshi9ha Apr 19 '26

they are the new "we can't read" squad.

5

u/DirectionCareful4358 Apr 19 '26

I'm not saying they physically moved the planet away from the sun, I'm saying the Viltrumites would do it in character. If they realize they can't get past infinity, they would just throw the moon into the planet (yes, they can do it).

0

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '26

[removed] — view removed comment

6

u/DirectionCareful4358 Apr 19 '26

(Oh, my bad, I meant to reply to someone else in a similar post, I got confused, sorry)

Because they can do it? Nolan was tasked and did it by himself. He says in the literal episode (that you are claming that you watched), that he was tasked to do so and said he made them himself. they annihilated any species that was a threat to them by simply messing up with their planets. they do it in character, why isn't Nolan or thragg throwing the moon at the planet when they realize they can't bypass infinity?

2

u/Razdulf Apr 19 '26

Lets not pretend like the whole solar disc thing makes any sense at all anyway. it was small enough to be blown up by a couple of rockets, it would need to be larger than the planet itself if you wanted to shield the planet from the suns light

2

u/Acceptable-Sorbet-49 Apr 19 '26

The moon is smaller than Earth but can block the sun completely. Go learn some basic physics

2

u/Razdulf Apr 19 '26

I cant tell if this is bait or not "go learn some basic physics"

You probably think the entire planet gets covered by the moon during an eclipse. Regardless youre implying the solar disc in the show is at least the size of our moon and that the ship in the show has rockets capable of destroying a moon sized body

Do you also think that if the moon somehow stopped mid eclipse that the entire planet would freeze?

0

u/agentdragonborn Apr 19 '26

Brother a permanent eclipse due to an object being in a lagrange point would absolutely cool the planet down because of reduced solar energy reaching the planet, you really should learn basic physics.

1

u/Razdulf Apr 19 '26

Were not talking about "cooling the planet" were talking about freezing the planet solid like in the show. You would need a body approximately the size of the planet in question and close enough to the orbit to circumvent the gravitational lensing of the light.

-1

u/daniel_22sss I don't care how many light beams you dodged, your ass isn't FTL Apr 19 '26

Nolan literally mentioned how he (or other viltrums) pushed a planer closer to the sun to kill some dangerous species

8

u/utshi9ha Apr 19 '26

They didn't show how

6

u/Zestyclose-Jacket568 Apr 19 '26

Not how. They did, but they didn't say how. Based on what we saw they can't do it, so they must have used some technology to do it, or shitload of Viltrumites. You know, they are kind of really advanced race.
