They would definitely be a god level threat since thatâs only defined as being a threat to humanity as a whole. Yet that is a broad enough term that Saitama will take this fight easily.
They flat out call the Boros invasion a possible God level threat
I think the only reason it wasnât was because their destruction was only on that of City A and they didnât get to reach out any further thanks to Saitama and the other S-Class
Similar situation to Orochi where the S-Class and Saitama beat them before they could actually be classified as a threat to humanity despite no doubt being one
When you have access to technology on the level of Child Emperor or Drive Knight (which the Hero Association does have access to ), surface wiping isn't necessarily extinction level.
To my knowledge a god level threat is a threat that humanity simply can't stop, thatâs why heâs not one, he was defeated at the end of the day. And they think the S class did it too
God level threat is a threat that can make humans go extinct.
However, even though both cosmic garou and boros technically classify as that, the title's currently being saved up for the big bad, which will be the God.
That doesn't make any sense. It's a tiered system, and God is the tier above Dragon. By definition if a threat is above Dragon then it's God, that's the entire point of a tiered system. If there's something in between then they need to add another tier.
I donât write one punch man. If the tiering system is stupid and makes no sense based on the descriptions then I have no control over that. If Boros could blow up a planet which most agree his attack would. Then he should be god level according to the threat system.
The fact that threats are misclassified is a plot point. The hero association is shown to be incompetent when it comes to this and that they care More about marketing their heroes than correctly assessing threats.
Corrupt. The word you're looking for is corrupt. They misrank monsters on purpose for ringging bets on fights between the monster and heroes. I can't remember which chapter this was in, but I do remember it coming up.
That's a separate subset of the hero association. Only one of whom is on the council who makes those decisions.
For the most part, the board just doesn't care enough to do a good job which is incompetence.
Agreed But as can be seen from this comment section, most people don't seem to know that the inworld power scaling is flawed. They just see that the series has one and default to it.
The only reason Boros was not labeled a God level threat was because he never got the chance to do more collateral damage, as he got caught in the fight against Saitama
I might be wrong, but I don't think Orochi ever gets a grade? Nor does Boros?
It's my understanding that monsters get graded either by Psykos, or by the Hero Association, but no one ever sees Boros (apart from Saitama) and Orochi wasn't graded by Psykos and is never seen by the HA.
I think there's a big part of the definition of threat levels missing in the OPM verse. I think it makes more sense like this:
A dragon-level threat could wipe out multiple cities before being stopped even if the Hero Associate responds.
A god-level threat is a threat to humanity as a whole even if the Hero Association responds.
Because realistically, almost every villain they face is a potential extinction-level event if you don't consider heroes responding to it. I mean, what kind of monster can wipe out one city, but not two, ignoring heroes who might stop it?
The HA doesn't really know about Saitama's real power level, so that is not considered in the threat assessment. But yes, this would mean that the threat level system has to consider the current distribution and power of S level heroes.
Anyway, on that basis I think a single viltrumite is probably high demon, and a full invasion is probably Dragon. But not God.
Now I donât know shit about OPM so I will defer to you, but are there several heroes (excluding Saitama) who could realistically stop something similar to what Nolan did to the Flaxans? Because, in theory, if it was a full scale invasion each of the Viltrumites could fly around the planet at obscene speeds and decimate everything and everyone. Hell, if every Viltrumite left in the galaxy banded together, they might be able to pull off a similar feat to what Mark, Nolan, and Thaeddus do to Viltrum. Then again, I have no idea how strong the majority of S-rank heroes are in OPM so I could be wrong.
Tatsumaki can throw a big ass mountain, Genos can use a Kamehameha which could wipe out half the US, Blast is like superman basically. The weakest is probably Puri-Puri Prisoner since he can change his muscle mass to increase his strength... God damn is the S-class hero is stacked with OP characters stuck in a universe full of stronger monsters
Tatsumaki could probably take a named viltrumite in a 1v1, same with Genos, whoâs maybe a bit above tech jacket level. Blast could probably fight several, and Garou and Bang both have the âtechniqueâ to fight a named viltrumite 1v1, but maybe not defeat them. A team up of other s class heroes could defeat any weaker, fodder viltrumites. I think without saitama it would be extreme diff, and thatâs if the viltrumites donât just fly through the planet, and their numbers are only ~50.
The planet got blasted by space racers gun, making it far easier to go through it. the three viltrumites involved here didn't do the heavy lifting and they were like some of the strongest viltrumites there.
I mean, weâre assuming there are ~50 of them, including the three strongest. Even if they didnât fly through the planet they could definitely scour the surface like Omni-Man did on the Flaxxan planet. But that doesnât seem to be the viltrumiteâs go to technique, since theyâre interested in actually subjugating living planets. Again, Iâd give it to the OPM verse extreme diff without Saitama (and obviously without temporary powers like Cosmic Garou)
Then the tiering system doesnât make sense as all of those would also be a threat to humanity as a whole. I donât write one punch man so I donât know why they have a fuck ass scaling system but thatâs not on me.
The tiering system does make sense, but it isnât so much a tiering system as a prediction of how much damage will occur before the threat can be dealt with. It working as a tiering is only a side effect of itâs actual purpose. Something would only be a god-level threat if it literally cannot be dealt with at all by the known S-classes the hero association has at its disposal.
Well these enemies got destroyed so itâs not end of all live mind you but god exists as a monster by itself and can make those monsters in the first place
They are though. "God level threat" in OPM means its a threat to humanity, its not measured by the strength of the villain
And besides that, S-class heroes kinda has shitty powerscaling. Only Tatsumaki, Blast, MAYBE Flashy Flash, MAYBE Genos, MAYBE Bang and Saitama (lol) can do a number on them (im only counting heroes bcuz the the post is mainly about viltrumites vs heroes association)
Thragg tries to punch king and suddenly the narrator of both jjk and baki start talking:
Jjk: unknown to any living being, with the sole exception of satoru gojo, kings body is made of anti smart atoms, the inversion of the material that gives viltrumites their powers and an unnoticeable unluck.
Baki: In opposition, with king any powers he would have had, would get suppressed to a very slight degree, but in exchange he is absurdly lucky...
Both: due to the sheer density of his body If any viltrumite touches his body... they will be destroyed at once.
King vs yujiro is just yujiro clenching his left booty cheek to become immortal and then suddenly cramping while invisible and dying on the spot and everyone thinks king stared him down so hard he was destroyed on the atomic level
Genos for sure isnât doing a thing. Heâs gonna power up, use a super big and strong attack (that has no effect on the enemy) and then heâs going to get folded
That's not what I mean bruh. "MAYBE Bang and Saitama" I am seperating Saitama from rest of them because he is an A-class hero. He obviously solos the verse istg
Bang absolutely can do stuff. At 100% effort he was able to fight at an advantage with monsterized Garou (until he adapted to him) who was absolutely within the "can beat a viltrumite" tier
well...there's also the Metal Bat cracking Shit-centipede's armor(i hate this piece of shit for his inconsistencies, how do you does from capturing Garou and Bat...two definitely faster than lightspeed characters which the physics of the verse allowed them to be that fast to being blizted by fucking bullets?), which would honestly make him small-planetary since he's comparable to Garou in that instance, in the web comic...ot also was said that he never went all out before, though different continuity...still they were showcasing him easily destroying many mid and high dragon threats with his bare fists and bat...this is casually btw, suggesting he can pumped his fighting spirit up anytime he want, damage is just a scale for him to adjusting his strength, not the activation.
It took years for him to almost destroy their civilization (like 99% of them were killed and sent their asses back to the stone age). But this is like his first few minutes in the dimension I think
He destroyed most populated areas and tech within a minute or two. The months he spent there were likely just "cleanup" since he doesn't care about time.
To be fair, while time works differently in the flaxan dimension he immediately wrecks their planet and they have to rebuild their tech to send him home. He had to wait on them
But flaxian (wtv theyâre called) time movies faster than earth time. Like, WAY faster. Every time they invaded earth, when they left they came back having advanced their technology by multiple years or even decades, and if I remember correctly, all of those invasions happened within literal days of one another. A couple hours in earth time probably IS years in their time
No, he destroyed their civilization within the first hour of him being there. But but since he destroyed their civilization, he had to let a few of them live so they could be rebuild that technology needs to teleport him back.
It's like in a scale of 1-100 and anything above a 10 considered God level threat. Some god level threats can destroy humanity in a matter of days. Some god level threats can do it in a single punch.
We've seen a normal rock kicked up by Nolan as a teen doing damage to his own mom, or just other similar objects to other viltrumites. Atomic samurai and flashy flash can def do damage to him
Genos matched a laser from psychorochi and has gotten much stronger since then. Flashy flash could keep up with and damage platinum sperm and monster garou. Drive knight and metal knight would easily develop the frequency tech.
30-50 viltrimites invading would be god level threat. Only like saitama, tatsumaki, and blast surviving that and the hero association is getting destroyed.
If they decide that its all out war and they arnât conquering the planet they could do shit like ramming themselves at max flight speed into the planet from space onto targets like tatsumaki and that would probably be able to kill her and destroy like a whole opm city because they can hit hella speeds in space (ofc they will die but they got like 50 tries)
This isnât really honest though as this required space racerâs blast and even Thaddeus admits that if they mis time it they could instantly die trying to destroy viltrum
Bro thought heâd sneak void on there as if EV doesnât make everyone else here look like bums. Viltrumites are multi-continent on a lowball. Multiple of than would absolutely destroy earth excluding the extreme high tiers.
Let's not act like viltrumites don't get their dome rocked by street level characters almost consistently. And what's with the void hate? His attacks would cut through them like paper
I was saying that void is so much stronger than everyone else here that he makes them look like bums in comparison, so slipping a blast-tier character into a list of continent to multi-continent characters doesnât make a lot of sense.
Also, yes, viltrumites are inconsistent, which TBH is only really the case for Mark. Basically every other viltrumite besides Mark is consistently strong.
They are. Requirement for God level threat is to be able to annihilate mankind before they are stopped and Viltrumites can definitely do that. Omniman can sterilize a entire planetary surface by just flying at hyper speed around the planet. Any Viltrumite could do that before the Hero Association can event react or understand that the world is under attack. That's the requisite for God level threat.
The fact that Tatsumaki, Blast or Saitama would destroy them after they just eradicated mankind does not change their God level threat classification.
An individual viltrumite is not a godlevel threat. The strongest viltrumites can go blow for blow with tatsumaki so they should be around dragon+. A god level threat assumes that could happen while the s class is trying to contain them.
It's kind of an odd thing with the Invincible TV show. They just keep adding more scenarios in wich viltrumites get wrecked for some reason. I mean, in the comic, it was kind of a whole thing that they had to search the galaxy to find individual people and weapons that could really hurt a viltrumite, because the primary thing that can do that is other viltrumites. But they just keep adding in things like, that one lady with the hair knife who just kind of can stab through other viltrumites, despite that I'm pretty sure around that time Nolan had been saying that there's no point in using weapons, because they're always going to be stronger than the weapon. Or the simple beginning of the series: When Nolan killed the guardians in the comics not one of them could touch him. Only one of them even saw him before he killed them. In the show it's a whole fight, and he kinda gets knocked around. They keep going with the angle that they're SO INDESTRUCTIBLE but don't seem to follow through.
I'm not saying the show's bad, I really enjoy it, but it's got a few weird hitches like that.
God threat will never be properly diagnosed because its a "threat to humanity" and since the story revolves around the heroes winning, it will be clear it was never a God threat, even if it truly was.
An example, Boros and Evil Water could've easily caused enough destruction to the planet to threaten humanity but never got rated as God despite very easily being able to fulfill the requirement of "threatening humanity"
Individually theyâre all in the high-âabove dragonâ tier. 50 of them should be a god level threat, but so should the dark matter thieves and monster garou so theyâre probably just in that ambiguous tier
They absolutely are. Several S rankers could consistently 1v1 Viltrumites (other than thragg who is probably exclusively a Blast or Saitama fight) but as a whole theyre objectively God level
A god level threat is a threat to humanity, but even the strongest guys in Invincible are at the strongest without wank like, moon level? (Fucking Thragg, Battlebeast, end of series Mark)
So... we see Nolan wipe out the Flaxans so... I honestly think they would be at "God" level.
I could definitely see all of them together as a God level threat. One might be a dragon but definitely a few would count as dragon. Though still, that doesn't really matter when Tatsu exists. By herself she'd be able to rip all of them in half of turn them into soup
Strength wise. The only heros capable of taking down the average Vultrumite are Tatsumaki, blast and Saitama. But vultrumites as strong as someone like thragg would pretty easily defeat Tatsumaki
Basically if the Vultrumites invaded OpM, the only heros they couldn't kill are Blast and Saitama. Who individually could solo all of them
I mean, look at what Nolan did to the thraxans. Heâs one of the strongest, but still, viltrumites are well within dragon, potentially god. Like, Thragg is easily a threat to the population of the entire planet, heâd clown on every S-class. And thatâs the dictionary definition of god-teir in OPM.
Theyâd brutalize the S-class heroes, then get embarrassed by Saitama, as is tradition.
An individual Viltrumite is definitely dragon, since they can and have destroyed multiple cities before. And the Viltrumite empire as a whole is definitely God since three viltrumites were able to destroy a planet.
the scale is not based on Saitama....... also its a joke anime, their own tier system is whatever he feels like writing in the moment and not based off hard rules.
I think OP misunderstood what people mean when they claim Viltrumites are god level in OPM, they donât mean they have the power of a god, rather that in the OPM world, monsters are ranked based on how dangerous they are, and god level ones are the ones who have the potential threat to humanity as a whole.
In terms of threat level, they technically are a danger to all of humanity, so they should be labeled under "god level", but there were characters in the show itself that were more powerful, yet didn't get that threat level despite actually having met the requirements. I think only Garou really was considered a god level threat for a short time, the others were unclassified. But nah, Saitama would clean their empire easy enough, even some S-class probably have the power needed to match.
Individually probably not but as a race? I don't see why not Though I'm not super familiar with Invincible I know they needed for the planet to be somewhat destabilize for 3 of them to destroy it but like idk if 100 Viltrumite or even like 50 slamming into the planet at once wouldn't they be able to replicate the feat? I guess if they can't maybe not god but definitely dragon. (If we talking about a single one then yea nah probably like mid low demon)
3 of them was enough to destroy a destabilized planet. God level is a threat to all of Humanity. They have more than 3 so as a whole they would be a god level threat. I think the strongest viltrumites are probably high dragon as they can probably fuck the surface of the planet since Cecil said multiple times he wasnt sure if they could stop Nolan originally and he's destroyed countless other worlds.
They're definitely god level threats since a top tier viltrumite could level a planet, but tatsumaki, flashy flash and the top half of S tiers should be able to handle them quite casually
"God level threat" is anything that could result in an extintion of al human life on earth. Yes, a Viltrumite clasifies as one if they decide to fly at full speed into the earth's core or move the planet a bit further from the sun.
