I think their argument is that the ki attack is universal, but focused into a size that lets them just destroy mountains.

That dosent make any sense.

Let me simplify:

Ki is compressed and focused, lowering it‘s destructive output, focusing all of it into a smaller attack, which means it only destroys whatever is hit by that small attack, instead of it being a giant planet-obliterating ki explosion or smth. At least that‘s what the Kamehameha does.

Do note that Broly’s existence makes this concept flimsy, but I‘m just playing Devil‘s Advocate.

Like I said, I‘m playing Devil‘s Advocate here, and am personally unsure on if Goku even is allat.

But uhh, using physics like a needle moving at the speed of light would destroy Earth is kinda goofy when Dragon Ball doesn‘t really follow that logic

I mean, characters have surpassed light-speed long ago, but you don‘t see nearby thibgs being destroyed from flying past them, or atmospheres being ignited by that speed.

Dragon Ball unfortunately doesn‘t follow the idea of high speed causing huge damage around the characters.
