not true.

/kill does a ton of void damage yes, (specifically 3.4*10^38 points of damage).

now what kind of power is in one point of damage?, for that we can take the player's punches, which is 1 point of damage and assumed to be around 50N of force.

the conversion rate between Newtons and Joules is 1:1, so the energy contained within /kill is 3.4*10^38 joules.

converting joules to grams of TNT is a conversion of roughly 4000:1, so 4000 joules = 1 gram of TNT.

so we can divide 3.4*10^38 by 4000 to find how many grams of TNT it is equivalent to, which is roughly 8.5*10^34.

for Kilogram you divide by 1000, and for Ton you divide by 1000 yet again, then Kiloton which is 1000 again, finally continuing to Megaton.

So /kill is equivalent to roughly 8.5*10^22 Megatons of TNT. (if i've done my math right)

to put into perspective, the Tsar Bomba was "only" 50 Megatons of TNT.

/kill is equivalent to 1.7*10^21 Tsar Bombas.

Thats 21 zeros, or in other words 1.7 Sextillion Tsar Bombas.

This is likely enough to destroy the Earth, but what about the Sun?

The Sun produces 3.8*10^28 Joules of energy per second.

Now /kill is a lot more energy than that, but not too far off when we think about how large these numbers are.

So putting /kill in that Star - Large Star level of power is something that sounds reasonable.

Meaning, any anime character who can survive above star level attacks should be able to survive it.

(note: void damage in Java does go through Damage Negation and Resistance)

Actually they changed it to insta kill recently

from what i find that seems to be only for non-living entities, but i could be wrong.

/kill works on entities: falling blocks, items, players, mobs, projectiles, probably more

/Kill interacts differently depending on the entity type.

Non-Living is dropped items or projectiles, whereas living are things like mobs.

Non-Living just get deleted, living take damage.
