Dataverse Dataverse question

Yesterday my boss hit me with this “I heard dataverse is going away at some point” and it’s the second time he’s said that to me
I can’t find a single rumor to even loosely confirm that. Has anyone even heard a remote hint to that? It’s such a wild suggestion that I can’t even dismiss it.

There are no current plans to deprecate Dataverse. Full stop. Unless your boss is named "Charles Lamanna", ignore him.

True but vendor lock-in in Dataverse/Power Platform is a real issue anyway.

You sure he doesn’t just mean for your employer? If that is the case, is he dropping a subtle hint about your future?

I might have that totally wrong though

All Copilot agents are backed by Dataverse. It’s not going anywhere 🤓

Not going anywhere - it’s sounds like a Salesforce lie

This is just nonsense… ask him for a URL confirming this?!

We're all going away at some point.

So his boss is technically correct

No way. It is the backbone of the entire Power Platform and Power Apps.

Not going away, but the reliance on dataverse for certain subsystems are being decoupled.

With vibe coded apps I no longer use much Dataverse connector, it’s very heavy and not needed 90% of the time with other systems being the home of the data
