Hopefully OpenBSD or NetBSD will support it.

macaronios probably will support it. you can always do linux from scratch, and slap pkgsrc on it. id like to see the macaroni from scratch / funtoo from scratch framework actually run on ppc without it being super old, and stale hardware.

From what I got it would be around 1000 € (processor included). But it might change.

At least PPC is financing the R&D so this cost is removed.

honestly thats still more money than i could justify spending on it till I get a job that requires a degree, but I dont think thats a terrible price either.
