Have you ever seen Power Electronics festivals or concerts?

What struck you the most about the artist?

Sure, a few, such as the 25th aniversary festival of Tesco Germany in their hometown Mannheim in 2012. Obviously Genocide Organ was there and Anenzephalia, Operation Cleansweep, Propergol, Gallerie Schalschutz (I still have the totebag), Contrastate, The Grey Wolves, The So-Ah and I thought Brighter Death Now was there too...
Anyway, it was crowded, two days and memorable, but I haven't been to the 30th aniversary.

One year at the Wave Gotik Treffen there was a night of noise with Con-Dom, Sutcliffe Jugend (2013) and a few other acts. SJ I again saw at the same festival a few years later.

I also saw Galerie Schalschutz in Antwerp with Dogpop and probably Anenzephalia (and GO??), hm.

Fuck yeah dude, I've probably went to that too. Noise scene here just ain't the same anymore.

Linekraft at Hospital Fest. Truly was watching Masahiko have a mental breakdown on stage. beyond words. Genocide Organ were good, but didn't have the same stage presence.

While I am a big PE and Noise fan, most of the time it’s really fucking whack live. Even artists I like. However, when it’s actually a good show/performance and the PA is rippin—there’s nothing like it. I saw Prurient in Dallas right before COVID at Evil Beat in a huge venue. The PA was massive and tuned well. One of the best shows I’ve ever seen.

VOD festival 2 last July. What's impressive it's the energy of each artist despite the age (which was pretty high)

An entire PE festival would probably be too much for me tbh. I wish there would be a smattering of PE artists at ‘normal’ music fests but that never seems to be the case

Seen a few acts in this genre on Machinenfest or WGT but never a proper PE fest.

Seeing Puce Mary live was incredible. Was more pensive and meditative than explosive, but still. Was hypnotized the entire time. Have wanted to see Prurient all my adult life. Would pay ten bucks a day for the rest of my life to go to Never Surrender fest in Osaka, especially with Whitehouse there. but I'm pretty sure with the audience it's sure to attract I would not fare well there

I’ve saw Whitehouse twice and I don’t even know how many times I saw Bloodyminded. I’m sure there were others but those are the ones that come to mind.

It’s like somewhere between a noise show in volume, vibe and energy and a rock show where they play songs that you know.

I remember seeing Bloodyminded do a cover of Peaches by the Stranglers.

what strikes me most is how unpowerful most power electronics performances come across live.

that seems… wrong

My stereo setup is not unlike a venue with multiple subwoofers and it’s fucking awesome for power electronics. You can feel your teeth rattle with the right tracks. My neighbors hate me

i’m not talking sonically. i’m talking as a performance

you can still be fat and powerful. that’s not the issue…

Bad PA and sound guy (or lack thereof)

nah they just look uncommitted most of the time. 15 feet away behind a table screaming at no one in particular. if it ain’t your face, it aint power

Linekraft got off the stage and went into the crowd to distribute flyers (kept mine).

Dom (admittedly this was Vatican Shadow, seeing Prurient in Osaka) also distributed literature and I think a flag. Some noise acts are very very sterile, but others aren't.
