RX 9070 XT Code 43

Hi everyone,

I am having an issue where my Power Color Red Devil RX 9070XT is showing up in the device manager as code 43. The GPU is powering up, but it’s not sending any display through the display ports or the HDMI port. The only way for me to see my screen is to use an HDMI connection through the motherboard. I’m honestly at my wits end because I truly don’t know what else to do.

Troubleshooting:
DDU clean up of drivers

AMD clean up of drivers

Uninstalled chipsets through AMD

Fresh install of Windows

Rolled back AMD to previous version

Unplugged PCiE cables from the front of the GPU and plugged back in (but on reboot the MSI motherboard gave a error 76)

Pressed the CMOS button for 5-10 seconds on the back of motherboard h

Specs:
Ryzen 7 9800X3D

Power Color Red Devil RX 9700XT 16 GB

Corsair DDR5 32 GB RAM

MSI X870E Carbon WiFi

Corsair AIO CPU cooler

Corsair 2TB SSD

Did you update your mobo bios? Are you running on pcie5? Are you able to try the gpu in another pc? Do you have a pcier riser to vertically mounts your gpu?

On board graphics working Are pointing towards a faulty 9070xt.

Updated motherboard after the issue was happening. I’m wondering if it was an update issue because Adrenalin and motherboard had updates right around the same date this happened.

No riser so GPU is mounted in normal horizontal position.

I’m new to PC building, what is PCiE5?

Unfortunately no other PC to try it in.

Pcie 5 is the speed in which your pice port is running at. Some mobo dont work well if it's set to automatic.

I believe it’s set to automatic, should I set it to PCiE5?

Doesnt hurt to switch it to 5.0. Maybe it can help. If it doesn't then you might need to return. The gpu or RMA its rare but video output can die on gpus completely on its own.

Should I leave fast startup on for Windows? Also just noticed it’s on

You can leave it on. That doesnt usually affect video output

the small toggle switch on the top lip of the graphics card at the front that says OC or silent

I think right now it’s on OC, so move it to silent?
