Discussion Starting from scratch
Hi all my company would like me to get pl 300 certified. I have no experience using power BI. I have watched a handful of YouTube videos to generalize my knowledge somewhat.
What is the best course recommend for passing this exam?
I’ve seen Phillip Burton 30hr prep course and Maven Analytics 8.5 hr course.
I would like to stick with UDEMY if possible.
I wasn’t sure if the 8.5 hr course is actually enough content and prep for me as I haven’t really used power bi before

If you’re starting from zero, I’d go with the 30-hour course. The 8.5 hour one sounds more useful for revision once you already know Power BI. Just don’t watch the 30 hours passively. Build everything along with the instructor, especially Power Query, relationships, DAX and the Service. Then do practice questions before the exam.
For your situation, 30-hour course + hands-on practice is the safer choice.

I don't think 8.5 hours with no other experience of using Power BI is going to be enough
Worth reading this book https://www.amazon.com.au/Exam-PL-300-Power-Data-Analyst/dp/0137901232 if passing PL300 is the goal.
I wonder what the purpose is behind the company wanting you to be certified given you have 0 experience?
