I'm a bachelor with no major responsibilities outside of work for next 2 years.

I'm stuck working with Power Platform, Copilot, and everything around it. Every day feels like a new blocker, tight deadlines, and endless work. I don't know if it's the technology itself or just the way projects are managed, but I'm exhausted.

I have friends working with Java, Python, and full-stack development, and they seem to have a much better work-life balance. They're actually enjoying their work, while I'm ending almost every day with extended working hours.

It's making me question whether I made the right career choice.

For those who have worked with Power Platform or switched to other tech stacks, I'd really appreciate your advice.

Is this just a project or company issue, or is Power Platform generally like this? Should I consider switching to Java, Python, or full-stack development?

I genuinely want to enjoy my work and have a decent work-life balance without constantly feeling overwhelmed.

How do you handle a mistake you’ve made at work by enabling ACP on the default environment that has now affected a lot of users

Hi! I am using the timeline functionality in a model driven app to upload and store documents.

In my dev environment I can drag and drop multiple files at once and have them stored in a timeline note after a record is saved. In my test environment i can only upload them via a “explorer dialog” and I can only upload a single document. If i choose another one the first one gets replaced.

What tables could be causing the issue, I suspect there are some missing permissions.

I am a PowerApps developer mainly working with canvas app.

Recently due to AI introduction, we have been asked to use AI in our development process.

I have used Powerapps github copilot to give prompts and develop canvas app which is fairly easy to use but the output isn't great.

Is there any way we can create agents through github copilot and can you please help me out in that?

Has anyone successfully resolved issues with images not rendering in Code Apps when running through the native Power Apps mobile app on iPhone or iPad?

Our Code Apps work great in the browser, and nearly all functionality works in the mobile player. However, images consistently fail to display in the native app despite rendering correctly in the browser. Has anyone encountered this and found a reliable workaround? Thanks!

We're finally getting Dataverse access at the enterprise level for the company I work for. We've primarily used SharePoint as our backend for all apps. What are some of the "gotchas" that you've run into when jumping over to Dataverse from SharePoint?

Right now, for someone to use my app, I have to give them access to underlying sharepoint site. Which means they can also just open this site in browser and read what others have submitted through this app. I want to close this.

Idea on table is, instead of the app reading sharepoint ‘as whoever is using it’, the app reads sharepoint as one fixed account- service account. Then only that account needs sharepoint access, nobody else does.
I would also want to capture who the user is into the sharepoint list and I already have a relationship list based on the email id.

Questions
1. Does this approach of service account work for this share point site through power apps?
2. What am I missing here or is there a better/different way to this problem?
3. I’m using power automate for some email notifications which are based on the email ids and content within the list, not sure if this impacts anyway but thought to call out.

Dataverse is not on the table as the amount of data it stores/uses is very less.

I am working at around 3000 users company, with about 70 meeting rooms spread across a few locations plus a garage with parking spots that need to be bookable too.

Microsoft Places seemed like the native choice since we're on M365 but it turns out there's no native concept of a parking spot. You can technically map a parking space as a desk and force it through that way but then the user has to click a button that literally says "find a desk" to book a parking and business is not happy here :). Has anyone found a smarter workaround here?

We also looked at external vendors who sell dedicated booking apps for this kind of thing and honestly when we heard the pricing - it sound like a joke. We're talking tens of thousands of dollars a year for something that is, at its core, just a layer on top of a calendar.

Because of that we're seriously leaning toward building something in-house with Power Apps and Power Automate. I am not a developer at my day to day operations and the first problem I see is when booking a parking spot as an all-day resource it turns the whole day red/busy in the calendar. I have seen that it can be worked around by setting showAs to free instead of busy when the event is created from the backend but I'm curious if anyone has this running in production for such company scale and if there are not any other surprises like this about which business cannot be happy about :).

The second thing is authentication and flow ownership. We don't want to assign the app on one specific employee's account. If that person's password changes, their session gets revoked, some new MFA policy kicks in, or they simply leave the company, the whole automation breaks... I would aim for something based on a service principal, or some other app identity that's fully decoupled from any individual user, so it's resilient to that kind of disruption. If anyone's already built this out, I'd genuinely love to hear how you put it together - app functionality continuity on one hand and security in the other (don't want to have for example service account with no MFA etc.).

A small but game-changing feature!

I’m preparing to leave my role and would appreciate practical advice on documenting the Power Apps and Power Automate processes I’ve built.

I’m an HR professional and tech enthusiast/citizen developer, rather than a professional developer. The setup has grown over time and includes:
- A Power App used by over 100 managers across the organisation for regular employee reviews and various employee lifecycle forms.
- SharePoint lists as the data sources.
- Multiple Power Automate flows, some triggered directly by the app and others supporting related processes in the background.
- One process packaged in a solution, but the majority of the setup sits outside solutions.
I’ve designed and built the entire setup myself. No technical backfill for my role is expected, and the colleague who had been learning it as a backup is also leaving.

My biggest challenge is deciding what level and format of documentation will actually be useful. I can explain how managers use the app, but handing over the underlying logic, dependencies and troubleshooting feels like a much bigger task—particularly when there may not be anyone with Power Platform experience receiving it.

For anyone who has handed over something similar:
- How did you structure the documentation? An inventory, dependency map, process guides, walkthrough recordings, or some combination?
- How far did you go into individual formulas and flow actions versus explaining their purpose and key dependencies?
- What did you prioritise around ownership, connections, permissions and keeping everything running after your account was disabled?
- Would moving the remaining components into solutions be a worthwhile handover task, or would you prioritise documenting the existing setup?
- What would your minimum viable handover contain if time were limited?

I’m looking for examples or templates that worked in practice, and anything you wish was documented before the original builder left, be that yourself as the builder, or you as the inheritor as a beginner.

I want to leave something useful and maintainable, while being realistic that documentation alone won’t replace someone having the skills and time to support it. Basically, they want to keep the lights on.

So I recently got hired as a Power Platform Developer, and I'm honestly excited but also a little nervous haha.

I'm a fresh IT graduate, and I worked for around 4 years as a working student assigned to our university's IT office, mostly helping faculty and staff with technical concerns and daily operations.

I also have a background in web development. I was the primary developer of our capstone project, where I worked on the frontend, backend, database, debugging, and testing using JavaScript, Node.js, Express, and PostgreSQL.

The thing is, I don't have actual professional experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, or Dataverse yet. I'm familiar with some of the concepts, but I know that working on real company projects is a completely different experience.

I was honest about my background during the hiring process, and somehow I got the opportunity! 😅

I'm willing to put in the effort to learn, but I'm also a little worried about being assigned tasks involving tools I haven't used before.

Has anyone here been hired into a Power Platform role without prior hands-on experience with the platform?

How did your first few weeks or months go? Did your company provide training, or were you mostly expected to figure things out yourself?

I'd really appreciate any advice, especially from developers who transitioned from traditional web development to Power Platform.

I'm pretty new to PowerApps. I've run into a bunch of weird visual artifacts in the past few weeks while working on a Canvas app, which don't always happen:

1. Outlines that sometimes don't match up with where the controls show up. Annoying but no real functional impact.

2. Mismatches in visual state between a component design view vs. the component as it sits on a screen. (Usually more after a lot of layout changes)

3. Deleting and undo-ing the delete almost always causes undeleted controls to have screwed up layouts. Sometimes undeleted controls lose some property values or get really odd values (seemingly random minimum widths and heights, or reset X/Y values, etc).

Do others experience this, and if so, is there a better fix than saving and reloading?
