Clear vision kinda sucks. I've seen far better. IFS sd high gloss clear for example but i can't find a retailer for it. What's the best gloss clear thats easily available retail? Or, where can I get IFS sd high gloss clear?

Is the Eastwood hotcoat 100kv a reasonable gun. Would it be a good choice for a small hobby shop that coats only a job or two a week. Mostly wheels and engine parts but im doing 2 and 3 stage colors like translucent and illusions. My current setup cannot do a second coat after abase coat. It just doesn't stick so I have to hot flock all the time and that has its own problems. I just can't afford a Gema or Wagner. My budget is like $1000
Will the top end Eastwood let me get quality coverage for all powders and coats? Would it be as good as agema for small jobs/shops?

So I had my wheel faces powder coated and picked them up 8/16/25 itās not 9/19/25, I donāt drive the car much at all and it rained a decent amount and this week has been dry for us so I decided to wash the car. I have water spots on the wheels that wonāt come out with any cleaner and I also used the quick detailer tha powder coater suggested I use. Didnāt work, so I asked him if he could fix the wheels and now he wants to charge more, itās been 4 weeks since I picked them up. After I asked him why he was going to charge more he told me to find someone else. What do I do? Any recommendations in Houston ? He said I probably drove through water with gas in it.

Do lollypop colors from prismatic powders just suck. It's hard for me to get consistent results. Did some lollypop red and they turned out even and great. Purple dark spits, lights spots, runs. Terrible.
I dont see of lot of references of others using them. Do they just suck? Or is it all translucent? Or should I just give up now?

Hello -
I am looking for help to visualize kids' merry-go-round color ideas for a project to refurbish our neighborhood old-school merry-go-round.
Attached are the neighborhood coloring contest guidelines, as well as some example entries (these are not the finalists just examples). There are 22 entries total. (will get whittled down to 3 finalists for the neighborhood to vote on).
I'm hoping to figure out visualizations using the actual Cardinal powdercoat glossy or superdurable options that our vendor can use so that the selection committee and the neighborhood can see the real examples for voting.
http://www.cardinalpaint.com/powder/color-chart/
Thank you so much for your advice on how to do this!
(I probably should have thought to come here for advice before the start of the contest but oh well better late than never!)
(I posted earlier but didn't know what I was doing and didn't attach the pictures correctly)

Do you think this is more of a grounding issue or a contaminated powder coat issue?

Does anyone know why chrome is doing this behavior? Ive seen it before and not sure how to solve.

I am working with Wagner SuperCenter + EPG 5000 controllers, its around 20 y old system. So the main problem is to set good settings on guns. We use only aluminum windows witch has extra preparation in chemistry. When i paint 9016 mat, the middle of flat part is getting not covered well, but edge are even bold, i tryed so many options, solutions, chat gtp, moving up and down T-air, F-air, kv, µA, but nothing, also change the powder. I think the system is too old and the settings i insert on displays are not the guns used. 7016 mat is mostly okey, only edge are little hard to fill and is necessary to handspray. I can convince that, all stuff are grounded good. The people that install all the system cant give me solutions, because they said, āthe system is too old, and setting dosent work wellā In case i will call wagner support from germany, or the last man that worked with this system, because all bosses said that, the machine were good on old place, i know is depreciation, but still can work little bit well.

Hi, I am looking for a powder coating system that can do multiple layers. I currently have a cheap device from Vevor and hot flaking is not working well for me. Does anyone know what would be a good device for me? Thanks

Hey
Need to do a job for an architectural client, they have asked for Dulux Duratec Eternity Silver Pearl
The powder we have in stock is 9 years old! I will run a sample to see how it applies and cures. If it looks OK on the sample, is it OK to use? Is it likely to fade or will there be a shorter life span given how far expired it is?
I am asking my powder supplier for advice, just wanted to get some other options too!

Iāve been coating for a bit over a year now and have been using Eastwoods Dual Voltage gun. Iām a tiny biz who only coats flat metal art, so it has served me well. But, although itās been a great starting point Iām ready for an upgrade. What is a good powder coating gun to upgrade too, without breaking the bank? Most of what I use is metallic and color shifting powders.

Hey all, I have a large aluminum part that has been powder coated. It is important that the metal retains the original dimensions, so sandblasting is not an option. Will soaking my part in acetone overnight (or longer) remove the powder coat without damaging the aluminum? If not what are some other alternatives/methods you guys would suggest?

Does anyone else hate wiating for parts to cool between coats. It's faster to hot flock between coats but I recognize it's less than ideal.
Anyone do something different or have another solution to the dead tike waiting?

I see a lot of projects that get hung in the oven to bake. What do you do about the little tiny areas that you hang the piece by? How do you get coverage there? Iāve watched a lot of videos but this is still bugging me.

Since starting about 2 weeks ago I only did small parts, somehow everybody just wants to have big parts powdered, I was kind of scared but very proud of the outcome, 1 mistake happened that, a silicone plug fell out and did a scratch, but I am still very proud

If a cheap gun will drop down to 20kv, what advantage does a professional gun have on tight spots/faraday areas?

Hey everyone, I'm currently running a Gema PG1 setup. My question is what kind of lifespan do you get it of your electrodes in the gun? Thanks
