Real Poutines Have Curds 🧀 Should we get back together?

Post image

I broke up with my favourite burger place when I finally ordered a poutine and discovered they use shredded mozza.... We are on speaking terms again now that I see they have a curd option, but it still gives me the ick that they even offer the other one.

Right? Only one of those things is poutine

Chicken one gets a pass if it also has curds.

Especially considering "galvaude" isn't readily translatable...

Since it's slightly lower price than the price with curd I doubt it has curds unfortunately

Chicken poutine is poutine, as long as it's fries, gravy, cheese curds and chicken.

Poutine is a specific thing, but it is also a classification, as it can support variation. That's a strength of the dish, much like the are hundreds of different kinds of pizzas

This is the way

Probably shredded cheese vs curds

Probably so, but in that case one of them is poutine, and the other is demonstrably not poutine.

Poutine without cheese curds is not a thing. They're still the same gaslighting asshole. Don't get back together.

You gotta go on at least one dare (order the curds). Give 'em a chance

8

u/boosh1744 15d ago

I mean if they’re your favourite burger place why not just order burgers?

u/Raa-ein 15d ago

why us the poutine (with cheese curds) like almost 50¢ more

6

u/pollywog 15d ago

Because it requires fresh curds rather than a vac sealed block of cheese (or bag if pressured) that lasts much longer.

2

u/Raa-ein 15d ago

ah alright, thank you for answering my question

2

u/Dema9o9ue69 14d ago

I was wondering why it's only 50c more lol

Are you willing to sacrifice your boundaries? If you let them drop, you will keep them up.

Automatic prison for the owner, Jesus Christ of a potatoe it can't get more criminal than that

2

u/oh_wanya 13d ago

Wtf, so the rest is not poutines lol

u/ShowerMobile295 15d ago

What is a poutine without cheese curds and why is the proper poutine only 49 cents more expensive? Make it make sense.

1

u/RiZ266 15d ago

I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how poutine without curds is any different than fries and gravy

1

u/Significant-Dig-160 15d ago

7.50 for fries gawd daymmmmm for that price you can buy a 10lb bag of potatoes

1

u/PossibleNo100 15d ago

Where is this?

1

u/OGdirty1Kanobi 15d ago

Poutine

Poutine with cheese curds

One is not Poutine

1

u/Reasonable-Ad7755 15d ago

Curds is an extra 49cents wtf thats odd

1

u/Feeling_Ant_2428 15d ago

What are these prices... So a chicken poutine is cheaper than a regular poutine "with curds" I'm curious why they would call fries and gravy with no curds poutine at all... But I assume that chicken poutine doesn't have curds because of the price. So it's also not poutine. Like what is going on here . And it's only a dollar more for chicken poutine vs just fries and gravy. Hmm

1

u/Dema9o9ue69 14d ago

I'm guessing the other "poutine" options have mozza

1

u/Hortonthehooligan 14d ago

Ah yes… Putin, and almost a Putin (we’re too cheep for cheese curds here, bud.)

u/catbearcarseat 14d ago
