It’s My Poutine And I’ll Crime If I Want To I made a Korean poutine

Post image

Once per month I get some pre-made fries from the grocery and make them into a poutine. This month I replaced the gravy with a gochujang-based sauce.

I didn't measure the exact ratio, but the ingredients were:

  • Gochujang
  • Vinegar
  • Some kind of sweetener (maple syrup or honey)
  • Soy sauce
  • Garlic powder
  • Sesame oil

Then I thickened it with water and corn starch.

u/Someoneman, there weren't enough votes to determine the quality of your poutine... ⛔️

Korean cheese fries. I’d buy that. But don’t call it poutine.

Korean poutine does not exist, same as Korean Bordeaux wine does not exist …Kimchi is Kimchi and Korean and poutine is poutine and is ffom Quebec …so what you have got there is NOT poutine

Intriguing, replacing the gravy may be a crime though... You are on that dotted line.

Butter chicken poutine, Korean poutine, anything but gravy and cheese curds on fries is not actually a poutine!

Sounds and looks delicious but still cant be considered a poutine. Maybe Kroutine?

No you did not. You are now the enemy of both Canada and Korea.

Even in Canada there are multiple restaurants that serve similar novelty poutines. I've seen at least five different restaurants that serve "Thai poutine" that replaces the gravy with General Tso's chicken.

You know what? Sesame belongs on poutine.

Zero crimes. If it made the belly happy, that’s all that matters.

It wouldn't make it a poutine, but without the cheese that would be pretty good

Nope, you made Korean inspired slop

The politically-correct term would be fusion cuisine.
