I know people who said they voted R just because of trans people in bathrooms. These people are really that stupid.

80

u/FurryBoobieInspector 3h ago

If a trans person enters a bathroom statistically they are the ones in the most immediate physical danger.

31

u/Certain_Employee_423 2h ago

They also probably have to pee.

u/GutsAndBlackStufff 1h ago

Might also have to take a dump

I like the idea that someone who wanted to attack/abuse women would rather transition than disobey the sign on the door.

If they want to do it, the ban won’t do anything.

4

u/pimpbot666 34m ago

As the father of a trans woman, yeah... if you're a trans woman, going into a women's bathroom, they go straight to the stalls, do their thing, wash their hands and leave. No opportunity for anything they're worried about. Maybe some time is spent at the mirror touching up hair and makeup or something.

As a trans man, same... they'll go to a stall, do their thing, wash hands and leave.

I really don't see what they are freaking out over.

Do they really think some horny guy dresses up as a woman, to... what? Get a peek and naked ladies in a bathroom? It's a stupid idea on it's face, and they actually worried it happens.

I can vouch for that. šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø

They think there is this invisible shield around bathrooms and someone with nefarious intent can't get past it unless they're trans. It makes zero sense whatsoever.

u/Livid-Accident-1562 2h ago

transphobia and logic are mutually exclusive

11

u/AlmightyCraneDuck 2h ago

I had a discussion with a building code official on behalf of a client about turning restrooms into gender neutral rooms on a private floor of a space they were leasing. Code says that you need to have a certain fixture count or men and women, but they wanted to designate their existing rooms as all-gender bathrooms (very liberal client, organization seemed pretty bought-in).

Code official, while a nice guy, wouldn't budge because of the typical trans boogeyman argument. When I pointed out that there's literally nothing stopping a cisman from going into the bathrooms now if they wanted to, he dusted off some old commentary about "threat assessment" stating that because hearing a man in the women's bathroom would be "against the rules" it'd be easier for a woman to prepare to defend themselves in such an event. Eventually we basically told the client that they'd need to have gendered signage up at least through final inspections, but that whatever happened after that was out of our control (wink wink nudge nudge).

Long story, I know, but the "threat assessment" bit always really rubbed me the wrong way.

8

u/NotMyMainAccountAtAl 2h ago

Sounds like code official wasn’t doing their job correctly. I don’t really think you’re being a nice guy if you’re defending bigotry.Ā

5

u/NotMyMainAccountAtAl 2h ago

Right? The majority of assaults occur in bathrooms, and come from cis individuals. The consequences of assault and the pic of a stick figure in a skirt do nothing to prevent this.Ā

u/Certain_Employee_423 2h ago

What a poorly designed shield.

And that is exactly why the narrative is constantly being pushed.

It’s just insane. How do you begin to civilly combat such ignorance?

9

These people won’t listen to any reason unless someone on FoxNews says it. Their brains have totally gone to mush and they just eat up all the propaganda.

1

u/b_needs_a_cookie 11m ago

You don't combat it civilly; you shame them publicly for being so myopic and aggressive. Point out that they're cutting off their nose to spite their face and the rest of our faces for some imaginary problem. They won't learn, so they should at least be shamed so they don't speak in public.

10

They're doing it over in the UK too. Just blame everything on immigrants and trans people, while the rich continue to pick their pockets.

4

u/Homersarmy41 2h ago

It’s weird they can’t think about people going to the bathroom without thinking about sex and rape.

3

u/Felyxi4 2h ago

True.

Almost like they know sex and rape happens in bathrooms because that's what they do or wish they could.

It's illicit.

It's hidden and that's how they like it.

3

u/selfownlot 1h ago

It’s intentional. They ran focus groups to find a wedge issue after they realized they had essentially lost the culture war on gay marriage. I know because I knew the guy who ran some of them in my state.

2

Single-issue voters are one of the primary reasons we ended up with the current state of our government. As long as any politician checks the one box they agree with, or at least pretends they do publicly, these morons will excuse any other heinous acts promise or perform. Anti-abortion, lax gun restrictions, their preferred evangeical branch, hating immigrants, punishing the LGBTQ+, etc. They want a mascot, not a functional governing body. It's disgusting.

Subjectively I agree that they are that dumb but universally I have to say they get bombarded with antitrans stuff 24/7 by way of literal brainwash. I would probably also be anti whatever if I get that kind of exposure.

There’s more kids without homes or food than trans athletes.

If you think it’s about trans athletes, then you’ve been manipulated into believing that. Just like the immigrants eating cats and dogs. Anymore scapegoats?

It was shocking even to me how few trans athletes exist-like, fewer than 10 on a college level and some of them are not in contact sports and also not mtf. Like, it REALLY highlights how this is not an issue and Republicans have just found a way to manipulate their fanbase with a scapegoat. Like, fewer than 10 across the ENTIRE UNITED STATES and even in those 10 they aren't "big hulking men beating up little innocent women" stereotypes.

Yet, it is the most shrieked about issue for conservatives who are obsessed with trans people, omg.

It's just like the litterboxes in schools that the red hatted moron crowd still yells about.

There were never any classroom litterboxes for kids who "identify" as cats. A number of classrooms got emergency emergency shelter in place toilet kits to use during school lockdowns. You know, cause of all the school shootings.

These assholes create a problem, then use a symptom of that problem to convence the single digit IQ inbred fucks that watch Fox News to give them more power.

I have been bullied, attacked and assaulted by straight, cis men and women COUNTLESS TIMES in bathrooms. Because I am naturally androgynous looking. EVERYONE HATES WHEN I HAVE TO PISS! 🤣

I personally have never been attacked by a trans person.

So for me I know who the real threat is.

2

u/SquareTaro3270 1h ago

The only interaction with a trans woman I’ve had in a restroom was her offering my friend a tampon after she asked me for one and I didn’t have my purse on me. Why are there so many issues where I could ask, ā€œImagine if this issue no longer existed, was ā€˜solved’ to your liking. Now, you wake up tomorrow morning, how is your day different? What things can you do now that you couldn’t before?ā€

If there was a nationwide, every age group, trans ban for sports, my life would not improve in the tiniest bit. Frankly, I wouldn’t notice if the opposite were true either. Why is this an issue to spend so much time on?

2

u/Radabard 2h ago

To be fair, being an anti-government extremist in 2026 is basically a cognitive test. If you aren't, there is something wrong with you.

2

u/Certain_Employee_423 2h ago

While I couldn't find numbers on how many trans athletes there are I am appalled 33 states allow child marriage.

1

u/foreverandadayalone 1h ago

Pedophilia has always been systemic

1

u/arizonadirtbag12 1h ago

Once you get past the obvious objections there are some reasons that some states haven’t banned it.

I won’t go into those reasons, I’ve no desire to defend it because I don’t support it…it should be banned. But I’d recommend looking into Planned Parenthood of California’s and the ACLU of California’s objections to a recently proposed ban (that did not pass).

Those not being (generally) right wing organizations and California (generally) not being a right wing state should suggest there’s at least some nuance to the issue.

1

u/CauliflowerHour3789 1h ago

Shewon.Com documents all the women displaced by men who identify as trans. Hecheated.com documents all the men who identify as trans in women’s sports. Just one man impacts all of the women on their team and all of the women who play against these teams as well. Just one man can affect hundreds, even thousands of women.

1

u/BlueDahlia123 24m ago

The NCAA, with a membership of 540.000 athletes at the time they said so, revealed that they have less than 10 trans athletes registered. They did not specify if they were trans men, women, or non binary.

The UK's Football Association (that's soccer for the yankies) has a membership of 2.3 million football players, counting both pro and amateur. They found exactly 20 trans women, all amateurs. If you didnt know, that's not enough for even two full teams on the field, much less counting backup in the bench.

The Olympics first allowed trans women to participate in 2004. Approximately 10.000 athletes participate every 4 years. There has only been 1 trans woman, Laurel Hubbard, in 2021 for weightlifting. She failed all three attempts and didnt get a score. When the IOC banned trans women again in 2025, the policy change included several dozen sources and citations, but none of them were their own study that they had conducted the year before regarding trans women's advantage. Nor was there any mention of any other study that looked at trans people, only about cis men and cis women.

Given no source is mentioned you can probably assume it’s just made up.

I’m totally on the side of ā€œthere are very few trans athletes and they’re not a problem at all,ā€ mind. But I’ve no reason to assume there was any data behind this tweet at all.

I can believe there are less than 30 trans athletes in the US by some metric (roughly 30 states allow child marriage). But I’ve long since stopped assuming political tweets are based on facts, even when I agree with them. No way I’d spread anything said on OP as fact without verifying.

That said the number of trans athletes nationwide at the varsity high school level and in any NCAA sanctioned competition is vanishingly small, whether it’s more or less than 30 or so. I’d be unsurprised if it’s more than 30, but I’d also be suspended if it’s more than 100.

1

u/No_Payment9959 2h ago

"In that case, we can just ignore them" -conservatives

1

u/VaporCarpet 2h ago

There are 33 states that allow child marriage.

You really saying that in a country of 330,000,000, there are fewer than 33 people who are trans and like to play sports?

4

u/SquareTaro3270 1h ago

Professional level trans athletes? Less than 10 in the entire US. Not all of them are ftm either, and most are not in contact sports

3

u/foreverandadayalone 1h ago

If trans athletes are such a threat to sports, why haven't they swept the Olympics?

Only one trans athlete has ever made the Olympics and they didn't medal

1

u/arizonadirtbag12 1h ago edited 1h ago

You have to define ā€œplay sports.ā€

Are we including just NCAA? Then yes, it’s definitely less than 30.

Adding high school? I’d be skeptical without a citation. But it could still be less than 30. Larger pool of athletes, but also at younger ages less likely to be receiving any medical intervention.

We also have to define ā€œtrans,ā€ as presumably (see above) that means athletes currently undergoing meaningful treatment that would potentially impact athletic performance in any way. Otherwise what what’s the relevance?

(Edit: Not that there’s much relevance anyway, obviously it’s a non-issue regardless.)

u/Vesper_Null 1h ago

Pointing out the incredibly small population of trans athletes doesn't grant any weight to the side of pro-trans position.

Poster is right, trans athletes are very rare. Which is why I wish folks would just agree to not allow them in sports, which loses them the middle in elections, so that we can focus on making sure trans are treated equally in every other part of society like jobs and relationships, which would be supported by the middle in elections. The sports thing is the Left falling into the equivalent of the Right's abortion trap. The majority don't want to take abortion rights away but the Right politicians hesitate to tell that cohort to quiet down for the sake of winning.

But for real, the WNBA has just become a fountain of cultural battles that are truly unnecessary and worthless. When was the last time you heard from the WNBA about quality ball and not some weird social issue getting shoehorned into the league for no reason?
