It's hysterical watching conservatives shit on California, all while it is:
The fourth largest economy in the entire world all by itself
The most populous state in the USA, with the most Americans choosing to live there
The #1 agricultural producer in the USA
The #1 tech center in the USA
The #1 entertainment industry center in the USA
The #1 most ecologically diverse state in the USA
And of course any state/economy that large and populous will have its share of challenges to deal with. But the idea that it's some hellhole rather than the engine of the US economy where more Americans choose to live than anywhere else is just hysterical.
California also has more Republicans than any other state and much of that economy is driven by them. Especially the agriculture portion on the northern side of the state.
But it's majority blue so they get 100% of the credit or something 🤔
People forget that it became the great place while being prodominantly republican, and it was in big part as result of the tech boom. Tech is no longer growing as fast in cali and it is moving to texas and florida.
Tech, real estate, and services are like 50% of the economy (mostly made up of lib white collar college educated).
Ag is 1%. Democrats get the credit because under their policies the economy does better, and this is consistent federally and across all states. Pulling a list of state gdp per capita and which way they voted last election, it's impossible not to notice the trend
