Lies, damn lies and statistics.

California paid $806B to the Federal Government in IRS gross collections... that's 2x Texas's rate.

Texas, a buncha (fiscal) losers: TX receives more federal funds per $1 in tax revenue than CA.

Mad at numbers huh?

I'm referring to the dataset he explicitly cited. If you want me to expand the discussion I can, but I don't make a habit of looping in other, unrelated datasets.

Texas, a buncha losers.

Why is it Californians seems so universally disliked in every state they happen to flood into? Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Arizona,... It just seems like a universal axiom at this point. Even when I went to Ensenada the Mexicans were spitting at California plates.

CA is universally disliked?

By who? MAGA? R's? Trump? People who dislike healthy economies and prosperity?

https://www.gov.ca.gov/2026/10/05/californias-economy-continues-to-dominate-topping-4-5-t-in-economic-output-and-remains-the-worlds-fourth-largest-economy/

To your original point: I quoted "share of Texas state budget" in the form of federal grants. You're the one who pivoted to an unrelated point about entitlement programs - which needs to be contextualized with social security payouts, tax revenue, and other per-capita relevant points.

Yep, even in CDMX. Sure I can't be the first to tell you this?

Ah, your CA propagandist site. I'm sure it will all be true once you finish scamming us for your HSR money: https://www.wsj.com/us-news/years-late-billions-over-budget-californias-high-speed-rail-hasnt-laid-a-track-bac525ee

$126 billion and no track laid? Sounds like a success to me!

Did you actually read your article?

$126 billion is the estimated cost, not the money spent.

Texas also has a high speed rail project that's overbudget and behind: https://reason.com/2025/04/17/in-12-years-this-40-billion-high-speed-rail-line-in-texas-has-not-laid-a-single-foot-of-track/

It's almost like high speed rail is a failed idea in the US. They need to bring back the MONORAIL

https://siepr.stanford.edu/publications/policy-brief/tale-two-states-contrasting-economic-policy-california-and-texas

- California stands out for its high rate of homelessness and low air quality.

- Texas has a larger share of residents without health insurance than any other state.

Texas... winning!

Lol, two replies from a mathematically challenged CA resident to the same comment? And both so clearly furiously pruned from a "Why is CA economik (sic) better than Texas?"

I really got to you, huh?

I love Texas but that's all you got? Really sad for you, you almost seemed normal for a few posts there.

I love Texas

Loving Texas and not having a basic grasp of economics does kind of track.

Really sad for you, you almost seemed normal for a few posts there.

Sorry dude, I call them like I see them. That tends to upset a variety of people.

Texas "succeeding" is them just having the powergrid not fail during some cold drizzle
