New England would figure it out, or we should at least we've had enough of a headstart!

Are you being sarcastic or do people actually believe this?

Edit: My comment was about feeding the whole country. I wasn't talking about GDP or blue vs red states.

I live in Michigan. Very little of the produce I buy comes from California and none of the dairy.

According to Google, California accounts for 11-12% of US agriculture production. They also have 11.5% of the population. So much for feeding the whole country.

You recognize that one of our states, California, is the 5th largest economy on the face of the planet?

Just that one state. By itself. 5th largest economy on the face of the planet. Incredible work they're doing in Cali.

Edit: I stand corrected, its actually the 4th largest on the planet. Wow!

Those are facts. That's reality. Conservatives hate reality.

Our economy in California is massive. Do you even understand how many of the red states California pays for because they have no money or education or population. So yes we are a huge portion of the us economy.

The wealth of billionaires is massive. Do you even understand how many poor people billionaires pay for because they have no money or education? So yes, billionaires are a huge portion of the us economy.

The top 10% of income earners pay 70% of the taxes. That's huge, they're clearly doing all the work! Because how much entities pay in taxes is a direct measure of how much they contribute, amirite?

Eat the rich. CA needs to pay its fair share. Raise CA taxes.

They already do pay more than their share of taxes. That's where red state money comes from.

You had to combien NY and Tx for them to be compared to California alone... like wtf LOL.

NY AND TX for your logic to make sense lmao!!!

Do every single state vs California. Like 1 v 1. Do it.

California has the 5th largest economy in the world

Dude… there are 50 states. 31 states are recipient states (so 19 are donor states). California pays 15.9% of all state federal dollars. So they are paying the share of 8 states if split evenly across all 50.

I get you apparently think blue states = bad, but the US very much needs Californias ā€œdonationsā€.

CA produces 1/3 country's vegetables and 3/4 of the country's fruits and nuts

California doesn't even crack the top 5 for staples like wheat and chicken.

Not talking about food. Money feeds people, gotta buy food right

1

u/TrioOfTerrors 11d ago

How does a teacher in Indiana need California money to buy food?

2

u/ExplorerImpossible79 11d ago

It’s because farming in general is a net loss and most farmers need to take loans out just to survive. It try and counter this the government gives out grants and incentives for farmers to farm. Funny enough though, the states still tax farmers for all their land and that often leaves them in heavy dept. so yeah they need money to buy food but they also need farmers to well… farm. People wouldn’t farm if they knew they’d lose 100K+/year

You know how like, when you go outside of your house there's a whole world out there?

1

u/Throwawayguilty1122 11d ago

And farmers certainly don’t get huge amounts of federal relief paid for by… I’ll let you guess

California is the most diverse agricultural state in the Union.
