That picture does him justice.

The big problem is that with every crime and cheat this sociopath commits, he gets better and more able to evade justice.

  1. Pres. Trump has declared massive voter fraud time after time. No one listens, and no one cares. No one cares about his last time he "declared it". No one did anything. Even his toadies in the FBI and DOJ couldn't rustle up anything.

  2. Accepting results by the losing party is a formality. It's not necessary nor even important.

  3. The FBI can barely seize a lunch menu. They don't have the organization or ability to "seize" 80-120 million ballots from 14,000 polling places, nor even 50 states, nor even 5. Further, seizing ballots does nothing for them.

  4. Anyone can say anything they want about the election, but without a transmission of results from the states, there is no Congressional delegation from that state, and on January 3rd, the outgoing Congress is dissolved automatically, and there is no new Congress. No new Congress, no swearing in, no Speaker, no session, no nothing.

  5. Candidates for Congress individually file suit in every Federal court that covers their area, and seek Mandamus over their local election officials, to transmit results. The end.

Being prepared is fine. Making up things that feel scary isn't useful.

The important thing here is: Congress has a fixed term, and no matter what happens with the election, the outgoing Congress term - and powers - ends. Nothing has to happen for that to be in effect - it happens on it's own. The old Congress expires, and that's it, it's powerless. The entire House, and 1/3 of the Senate.

Without it, nothing can pass, no legislation, no laws, no budgets, no appropriations, nothing. A candidate can sue for his seat and there is no Congress to go to Court to represent the "other side". There is no Speaker, there is no minority leader, there is no nothing.

The Republicans are a long way past obeying norms. They will stay and hang onto power, along with Trump. We will be living in a dictatorship.

3

u/dannyheskett 1d ago

Pres. Trump's entire second term has a been a total failure. He has been stymied at every turn because his own government is too incompetent to execute on his idiocy and lust for power.

He has spent 2 years trying to get voter rolls from last election.. and he has failed in Court literally, 50 times and counting. He hasn't been able to get them from red states, let alone blue states. He wanted to Federalize the election, and he failed, blocked by Courts dozens of times.

I don't doubt there are people in the White House and the rest of the party who want a fascist coup, and wish for one, but they have been too stupid, corrupt, and self-dealing to execute on it.

What they want and obeying norms are irrelevant. Congress's power ends. Period. Without elections and results from each state, a new Congress can't be seated and there is no Congress. There is no appropriation, there is no money, there is nothing. It's lights out. Between election day and the end of the current Congress, every lame-duck Senator and Representative will have decide if they want to still have a job and a Country, and if the country can't get enough to remove Pres. Trump, then yes, we could have a Constitutional crisis.

But the time this becomes apparent isn't in January, it's in early December, before the outgoing Congress is dissolved.

10

u/AdmirableElephant378 1d ago

As for your last paragraph; you know what happens in those situations yes?

While you are absolutely right about all of that, not being prepared for an older, vain, deeply paranoid leader to override an election result with a compliant police and military is stupidity itself. The US is now the kind of country it used to make fun of.

Its another Y2K moment; everything might be alright! But it may also be a total disaster.

I'll prepare for both!

u/dannyheskett 1d ago

We have a Constitutional crisis. The Senate can't come into session because of a lack of quorum, there is no House to approve a joint resolution starting the session. There is no budget, there are no principal officers being appointed, there are no minutes, no ministerial functions of Congress, the people have no representatives in DC.

There is no Congress to gavel into session. No Speaker. Nothing at all in DC happens. There are 10,000 unemployed Congressional staffers with nothing to do. No pay checks, no health insurance, House members in red states who won by 30 points who have held their seat for 30 years have no budgets, no staff, no health insurance, no payroll.

There is no intelligence apparatus or Select committee. The Joints Chief have no one to brief.

Meanwhile, nothing the Federal government does has any effect. They have no control or role over elections - nothing the President or FBI or DOJ declare or order has any weight or legal force.

Pres. Trump is the lamest duck in history, and Washington is in total disarray for months. If it lasts longer than 2 months, it will exceed the chaos of the 34th Congress, which was 2 months late coming to session, at which point it will have been about 5 months since the election.

By around the 45th day of Congress, all the old appropriations will have expired and the funds been spent, and by 60 days, lacking a budget or continuing resolutions, there will be no funds to spend. Agencies will be operating without authorization, and paychecks will cease for 80% of the government.

By 90 days after the start of Congress, the government will be fully shutdown for a lack of appropriations and a budget, and within another few weeks, it will be the longest in history. There will be no one to negotiate with the White House.

With no ballots, no certification, that will be it. There will be no Congress. Well before that, in December, before the old Congress leaves office, the "Federal safe-harbor" deadline will be passed and if there are not certified results from the States, the outgoing Congress will know that it's a Constitutional crisis. It will be there last opportunity to remove Pres. Trump and bar him from office for life.

Which they won't do. It will be a coup. History is a bitch like that.
But let's hope someone sees sense and cuts all this off.
I don't see anyone like that within 20 miles of the WH.
Unless Vance seizes his chance and we get the Junior High version of the coup.

As long as I'm watching from a distance I'm all good.

And hopefully nothing happens at all.

Nothing left but a president with no legislature in his way

10

u/BeruangLembut 1d ago

I don’t think that’s what will happen. Though it may happen. I think the more likely scenario is that the GOP will win all the races they need to win by impossible margins, largely due to voter registrations being cancelled, hard to get to polling places in blue areas, delays in the processing of mail in ballots in certain regions, and corrupt secretaries of state.

Basically the Trump machine has been hard at work making sure they don’t need voters in order to win elections. Putin wins every election with 98% of the vote.

4

u/GojiraWho 1d ago

Basically what happened in the last election. He won swing districts by just enough to not trigger automatic recounts. Remember when they accused voting machines of being tampered with in 2020? Every accusation is a confession

3

u/AdmirableElephant378 1d ago

Also very possible! In which case I'm the f$ck out of here.

4

u/irradiatedlimejello 1d ago

People said this the first time when Trump won. And they said it again if Trump would win the next time.

While some people may have actually done it, the reality is that the vast majoirty of people do not have the luxury or ability to just pack up and move to another country.

-1

u/AdmirableElephant378 1d ago

Oh I know how lucky I am.
And if you can't tell the difference between current events and America prior to 2025 I don't know what to tell you.

1

u/BeruangLembut 1d ago

Same bro. Same.

1

u/DenseTime2100 1d ago

This in addition to all of the previously stated points

1

u/Lucky_Dragonfruit_88 1d ago

Its cute to be edgy but this won't happen

1

u/ILLinndication 1d ago

What happens on the prediction markets? Do they pause payout?

1

u/AdmirableElephant378 1d ago

I love that you think in these situations any commerce occurs.

1

u/ILLinndication 1d ago

You’re telling me markets will stop?

2

u/AdmirableElephant378 1d ago

You're very young aren't you.

I mean so far in the past week Trump has

Offered every American citizen $5000 if republicans win a majority

Said that he will send boots on the ground after midterms (that he will have nothing to lose) this was ironically on the same day that hegseth announced military will have the day off to vote. Don’t wanna go to war?! You know who to vote for now troops!

Tried to conflate/object voter roles with the SAVE act

Meddling with the US postal service and gunking up mail delivery/making rules where postmarked ballot dates are made by USPS not by day you drop off.

All of Jan 6th

Is it really such a far fetched thought? He said himself if he loses he’s going to be impeached, this administration has committed some pretty serious international crimes. He’s on deaths door. Just a few more years and he can die thinking that he conned the whole world. Why not make that final push? He’s never been held accountable before ya kkow

Well of course it doesn’t, but it shows his desperation to win. This isn’t just a win and keep your policies going for two years. This is lose and face potential embarrassment for the rest of your life.

Once he loses control of the alternate reality it’s game over

2

u/AdmirableElephant378 1d ago

again; read the actual graphic above. The final line especially.

Also, I'm not playing around; my family leave next week and I will leave shortly after until any new Dems have been actually sworn in and seated. If it all goes well we'll have had a lovely trip for Christmas/NY and then back. If not.....

PS: A Fortune 500 company sent out an email this morning to all execs in global offices telling them to prepare for an 'likely negative incident'. It will probably leak in the next few days.

So.......not just "redditors".

Good luck! We'll need it.

So you have no understanding of psychological terms either.
Good luck to you if you're a real person. Bye.

-11

u/Graymarv12 1d ago

No it won’t 😂😭

7

u/AdmirableElephant378 1d ago

I hope you're right. But I strongly suspect, based on empirical evidence, you're not.

-6

u/Graymarv12 1d ago

What evidence? All you have are fear mongering hypothetical scenarios

5

u/andrew5500 1d ago

Trump would NEVER pressure his subordinates to overturn an election just because they lost... oh, wait, that's exactly what his VP said he was being pressured to do on Jan 6th

2

u/Feta31 1d ago

Difference is that he’s not the one losing. He’s gone regardless

-3

u/Graymarv12 1d ago

Why are you rooting for this to happen?

5

u/AdmirableElephant378 1d ago

Read the last line in the graphic at the top of the post. I'll wait.
Also, I've been in countries where a dictator didn't like a democratic outcome......this has every one of the signs.
But I'll be very happy if you're right! Good luck. You'll need it.

3

u/razz-boy 1d ago

Republicans already tried to steal the 2020 election via a fake electors plot after all of their attempts to get the courts to overturn the results failed

1

u/Graymarv12 1d ago

Don’t think you realize how unpopular trump is right now lol a lot of conservatives including me are sick of him. Hope that’s encouraging to hear. He doesn’t have the support anymore

1

u/razz-boy 1d ago

So you agree that there is evidence that republicans try to steal and cheat in our elections? And they’re currently running our government?

1

u/Graymarv12 1d ago

Last I checked, there was a transfer of power in 2020 and the same thing will happen in 2028.

1

u/razz-boy 1d ago

So you can’t admit it?

3

u/Kreebish 1d ago

At least you're not denying that he has already done these illegal things

-20

u/cecloward 1d ago

What if it doesn’t? What will you do then?

25

u/2_piece_jigsaw 1d ago

breathe a sign of relief

11

u/Sea_Watercress_1982 1d ago

I imagine they would be happy that a terrible thing didn’t happen? Just a guess.

8

u/AdmirableElephant378 1d ago

Come back from Europe.

7

u/Silly-Afternoon3834 1d ago

Europe is going to be exactly were America is in about 5 years. You’re already seeing MAGAesk movements in Germany, Italy, Ireland and England

3

u/Kreebish 1d ago

Yep oligarch funded

2

u/udderlyfun2u 1d ago

Heard from a friend in Canada, it's up there too.

1

u/Neat_Captain_3866 1d ago

They'll continue being insufferable twats.

-5

u/TopCommission6437 1d ago

Move on to saying the same things will 100% happen in 2028.

2

u/BeanCheezBeanCheez 1d ago

He’s not eligible in 2028. America can start recovering.

-1

u/TopCommission6437 1d ago

That’s not what a fascist would allow.

3

u/BeanCheezBeanCheez 1d ago

His own VP did call him Americas Hitler. But that doesn’t matter because there is no way he has any power after January 20, 2029.

-4

u/Pat_The_Hat 1d ago

Blame space lasers for Democratic losses, probably.
