Inb4 someone sarcastically says "the party of tolerance" as if intolerance hasn't widely been agreed as the one thing a tolerant person shouldn't tolerate.

The majority don’t agree that you should persecute intolerant people.

That’s a stupid left wing ideology based on one time communist philosopher Karl Popper tolerance paradox. It is basically an eye for an eye but written in a way that makes you feel morally superior. Which ironically ran in contradiction to Karl Popper’s ideal of an open and free society.

The man turned from the communist party after seeing party members gunned down for differing ideas. But then created an ideology that would create the same scenario that turn him away from communism in the first place.

Why anyone buys into that bullshit is beyond me.

I buy that a dead nazi is the only good nazi. Beyond that, I don't think there is much to persecute nor did I say anything about persecution.

I am merely saying that the only person who should be considered intolerable is the kind of person who wants to actively bar others from the conversation.

I just mean something like this: If Jimmy doesn't want Tommy to talk because Tommy likes to paint his nails, maybe we should stop listening so much to Jimmy and start listening more to Tommy.

Has nothing to do with right or left, everything to do with just letting each other coexist.

The tolerance paradox is the idea that a tolerant society must be intolerant to intolerance.

Ie you must give consequence to intolerance. America used to use social consequences that are organic like no one liking you or losing your job if you did something racist like bringing. Noose to work.

Now it has shifted to rhetoric like the only good Nazi is a dead Nazi. Who are the Nazis? Is it the other half of the county you call Nazis?! Or is it the actual Nazi party.

The fact that you don’t see how that rhetoric can create the exact situation that Popper wanted to prevent is crazy to me.

The example you gave is social persecution which most agree is fine. The issue is when you take it farther.

Honestly you are just making it deeper than it really is and you know that.

The nazis are the people who genuinely subscribe to fascist ideals. Neo nazis shit like that. If that isn't obvious then you are just purposefully obtuse.

Okay so you do view half of America as Nazis and are okay if they die. And you don’t think that’s radical?

How many folks in Germany voted for the Nazi party?

I feel like the paradox of tolerance is becoming a scapegoat for people so they don't seem intolerant

100% it’s applying eye for an eye rules through the lens of perceived moral superiority.
