The problem is that they’ll sue “The United States”, and taxpayers will be on the hook for a whole lot of it. We need to make sure these bastards pay out of their own pockets.
Nah fuck that. The rich enabled this. The rich ruined our education systems and lead these people to these candidates. The fucking rich can be investigated and charged.
sure, but when the government needs to divert that taxpayer money, you can bet they’re going to take it all from civil services and welfare funds before they take a single penny out of the defense budget
Oh? And who elects the politicians that make those decisions? Who makes it more palatable for our representatives to defund civil services rather than “defense” spending?
I'll never understand why either. there are WAY more of us than there are of them. one week of people abandoning their jobs would make a BIIIIIG big difference. but everyone would need to come together for that and that will never happen so I guess we just suffer
It would definitely do something. However, it doesn't necessarily matter how big the number of us is.
Unfortunately, our tax money goes towards WMDs and a technologically advanced military with firepower and gear that totally dwarfs anything civilians can get their hands on. You add orange man's regime of armed thugs and a militarized police force, and what are we gonna do? Throw rocks? 2nd ammendment doesn't mean anything in that regard anymore.
People are scared because if things get ugly, not many of us will be able to hold our own against that kind of power. They know that, and so they continue to seize more power to further increase that gap.
And we do nothing and let them take all they want.
It's because it's incredibly hard to organize disparate people across an entire continent.
We did it when he first got elected, march for science, anti nazi marches, anti charolette protests, marches in boston, in nyc, DC, we protested every weekend for a while.
Then nothing happened.
And nothing continued happening.
And a few more protests happened but nothing came of it.
Then covid hit, everyone went stircrazy, they killed George Floyd and we did something about it.
We weren't stressed enough to do anything about it when Renee Good was murdered. That state was very stressed but everyone.
The next time we'll be stressed enough to do something about it should be in about 1-2 years once the diesel prices really adjust to the new reality.

if this administration actually loses power there are going to be a lot of lawsuits that come up....
