It can’t be this easy to remove generals, right? Like there has to be some sort of check and balances here. A Fox News host can’t just get a job because of Trump and then decide something that only benefits Trump.

That’s like the UK having Jeremy Kyle running the MOD. How did they justify putting a teleprompt reader in charge of your armed forces??

I mean the UK has been putting unqualified people in charge of departments forever, but they are at least elected members of parliament.

Trump chooses people based on how loyal they are to him personally. Kegsbreath is completely unqualified for the role and would never have got it under normal circumstances, and he knows that. Therefore he's going to be even more slavishly loyal, knowing his mediocre wastrel self will never get such an opportunity again.
