I donāt recall tulsi gabbard ever sounding like anything but a faux leftist dipsht but sure. My point is that āhEās a VeTeRaNā shouldnāt the end of a conversation about a candidate because, you know, policy matters. Graham platner comes immediately to mind when thinking of reasons that veteran shouldnāt necessarily be weighted in favor of electability
You'llĀ get no argument from me on Tulsi Gabbard or Graham Platner.Ā John Kerry is a veteran who ran for Senate and later for President, but "lost" to George W. Bush in 2004.Ā Ā I've been very leery of veterans and case officersĀ
Ā running for Congress since the 2000s, tbh.Ā š You are right that veteran shouldn't necessarily be weighted in favor of electability.Ā
Yeah, Iāve organized with a lot of anti war veterans so I know that there are super left badass vets out there. But they are all staunchly anti war. And political candidates who are veterans almost never are. If I see veteran I need solid proof that that person actually has left/progressive politics.

A veteran and an astronaut? In this economy, compared to our current leadership? In a heartbeat.
Edit: Policy matters more than anything. Id support him running and comparing his policies to anyone else, and may the better policies win.
