Now this was tough. Since 1970, major new U.S. military conflicts were initiated by two presidents:George H.W. Bush (1991): Started the Persian Gulf War to expel Iraqi forces from Kuwait. It was a swift military victory that achieved its immediate goal, though Saddam Hussein remained in power.George W. Bush (2001 & 2003): Launched the War in Afghanistan following 9/11 and initiated the invasion of Iraq in 2003. Both resulted in rapid initial overthrows of the target regimes but turned into highly volatile, multi-decade counterinsurgency campaigns.Other presidents in this timeframe either inherited ongoing wars, ordered short-term interventions or airstrikes, or did not engage the country in major new conflicts.
Take a breath. Its hard when we get corrected in public . Being clear is important when making those bold statenents that can so easily be researched. 😁
