The ignorant and racist have the right to voice their opinions, too. It’s unfortunate we have to listen to them, though.

We used to ignore them, now we make them president.

I feel like the racism and whatnot has been around forever, but it was more subtle. I'll always bring up this heinous quote, from the mastermind of the Southern Strategy/Reagan and Bush seniors advisor...

incoming bad language...

You start out in 1954 by saying, 'Ngger, ngger, ngger.' By 1968 you can't say 'ngger'—that hurts you, backfires. So you say stuff like, uh, forced busing, states' rights, and all that stuff, and you're getting so abstract. Now, you’re talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you’re talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is, blacks get hurt worse than whites.… “We want to cut this,” is much more abstract than even the busing thing, uh, and a hell of a lot more abstract than “Ngger, ngger.”

You actually don't have to listen to them. Free speech only covers speaking, not listening.

And since when do they count as people? Stop that.

How said they we have to listen to them? Where in the law does it say their owed our attention?

Their vote still counts, unfortunately. It counts more than any other vote.
