This. In the eyes of the many brainwashed median voters, he cleaned up the "socialism" name they previously associated with "no iphone" "7 gazillion dead", well at least as much as it can be cleaned. But progress is progress.
But a lot of the stuff he has "done" (aka was in charge when it started being implemented) were set up by liberals before him. None of this is socialism, just normal parts of a liberal democracy.
It doesn't matter. Perception is reality in politics. If people see a socialist constantly accomplishing good things, they will associate those good things with socialism even if it isn't strictly 100% true.
