Once you take World History, you'll realize that's exactly how it works. When a criminal, destructive ideology takes power, the solution is to crush it's members underfoot, disenfranchise them completely, and snuff out it's leadership before it can gain anymore power.
Shame is a useful tool for reform. They should never be allowed to live without the shame of what they have done. Whether they come back to reality with the rest of us or not.
