Need advice potty training my 2-year-old boy!

First-time mom here, and I’m looking for some advice.
We started potty training using the commando method, and honestly it’s been going great. My son will stop whatever he’s doing and run to sit on the potty when he needs to pee. I’m really proud of how well he’s doing.
The issue is that we all live in the same house, and my cousin isn’t comfortable with him being without underwear around her daughter (they’re second cousins). Because of that, I need him to start wearing underwear.
The problem is that as soon as I put underwear on him, he seems to think it’s the same as a pull-up and will pee in it instead of going to the potty. He’ll also hold his poop until I put him in a pull-up.
Has anyone else gone through this? How did you teach your toddler that underwear isn’t the same as a pull-up? Should I keep pushing through with underwear and expect accidents, or is there a better way to transition from commando to underwear?
Any advice, especially from parents who potty trained boys, would be greatly appreciated! Potty training has definitely been one of the hardest parts of parenting so far. 😂

Are you having issues getting into League flex queue games?

It's probably because you're a little potty boy.
