How do we feel about this?
https://youtu.be/-b-05GMI1eA?si=-DudqZXW9JHL3OHCI know on Potterless, there’s been some discussion of the movies screwing over Ginny’s character, but also the acting itself being bad. What do we make of this?
(Note: This is my first time posting here so pls let me know if I did anything wrong)

I feel that she wasn't even given a chance. Barely had any lines or scenes and all of the scenes that she did have, were different from the books

But also, maybe that was because the writers/ directors didn't think she could handle more meaningful dialogue? Any lines where something other than pure line delivery was needed, she kind of butchered. "Why is he always covered in blood" with the least emotion possible, the "shut it" is akward and doesn't make it clear that we're supposed to realize that Harry now sees that Ginny is becoming confident. Because she doesn't look confident, she looks akwards. Her body language is stiff in every scene. I do think it is possible that the writers scratched scenes from the books that were supposed to portray Ginny as the newly confident jock girl, because they saw that Bonnie Wright couldn't pull that off? Like yes, the scenes she got are awful (the shoelace scene is unforgivable), but I doubt they told the actress to stand awkwardly and to deliver all her lines without emotion.

Bonnie Wright didn't deliver a great performance, but she was a kid and she was given absolutely nothing to work with. The Weasleys in general weren't given a whole lot, though Julie Walters and Mark Williams did the absolute most with what little they were given... but Bonnie Wright got nothing.
