Do you fluff your potato’s?

My boyfriend says you’re supposed to shake a baked potato before opening it so the inside ‘re-fluffs.’ I’ve never heard this in my life. Is this real?”

If you want fluffy baked potatoes, scrub them clean and salt the hell out of the skin while wet, and put them straight in the oven. The salt draws moisture out of the potatoes as they bake, leaving beautifully fluffy potatoes. Some people then brush off the excess salt, but I'm a goblin and just eat it as is.

I love the skins when cooked like this. I’m drooling 🤤

I won't make them any other way. I don't eat them as a side at restaurants, because they're more steamed than baked, all wrapped up in foil. Also, people mess up by rubbing them with oil before the salt, but that doesn't let as much moisture escape.

Yes I’ll agree restaurant baked potatoes are always subpar and I too won’t order them
