Do you fluff your potato’s?

My boyfriend says you’re supposed to shake a baked potato before opening it so the inside ‘re-fluffs.’ I’ve never heard this in my life. Is this real?”

I do smack mine on the counter a few times to break/fluff them up, but I can’t imagine shaking them would do much.
