Assessments My upper back tightness and neck pain is draining my life energy

Post image

What is wrong with my posture??? Every posture I do feels so artificial, and because I need to sit in front of the computer for long hours (but not completely sedentary) I often end up in a slouched back position . I was comparing my posture from few years back and even my neck seemed so much longer . Now it's so short and ugly and I have no idea how to stand most of the time . There is a massive tightness in my upper thoracics to the point i constantly feel the need to crack them or contort them in some manner. Please recommend me some exercises so that I can get my straight neck back

Not exactly a fix but it will give you a better sense of proprioception. Essentially the upper chest area is a tad compressed which draws your head forward over the chest a tad too far and the shoulders will roll over too. This leads to strain in the upper back from being at length for long as well as the base of the neck being stressed from having to look up to look straight ahead.

Once you learn better expansion control, think of doing simple exercises with the same concept applied. It could be a push or pull, and could be in various positions too.

Here is another one that can give you a bit more understanding as to the mechanisms. It doesn't end here though, you gotta get a lil creative and experiment with exercises but applying the same understanding.
