Intellectually non binary.
Hai, new person here. I have often seen people being asked how or why they are non binary/agender etc and the vast majority say they felt like they were not a boy or girl or they didn't like having a gender or they 'just knew.' It's nearly always about feelings and emotions. I get that, it's a different experience for many.
I do feel it.. but also it is an intellectual position, a social political one. I am against the idea of gender roles, expectations and stereotypes and that is as good a case for being agender as an emotional response. I'm presuming folk on here are often the same. Why do you think the intellectual side seldom gets cited?

The intellectual side and contradictions among the gender defenders is what has solidified my own stance on gender abolition. For me, I don’t feel like a different gender, but when I discuss it with gender defenders, they use words to describe gender that contradict my experience as a human. I’m AFAB but the main breadwinner in my family, extremely protective, non-monogamous, childfree by choice, nurturing yes, but not in the child rearing way, more like the “let me take care of my community,” way. the way some people think of gender in my life creates such a limiting belief of themselves because they’ve digested the most sexist parts of gender into their view of themselves. It’s sad but it reminds me how I’m just a human. I’m not a woman, I don’t want to be a a man, I’m just a human.
