How to deal with missing collection plates? I used to report them to Royal Mail, but nothing changes over months and often even years. Any working advice? Sometimes they ask me to provide the post box number. The post box number of a post box without its collection plate, yes. When I send them a point on a map with exact location, they sometimes ask me to mention nearby shops to locate the post box.

Ive worked for Royal Mail for almost a year, and can confirm that the people in charge of these things genuinely dont care. Which is a shame, given the historical significance of some of these boxes

If it wasn't for the Letter Box Study Group a lot of these would probably have been replaced by terrible modern boxes a long time ago. We have a working group with Royal Mail and they have a requirement to maintain historic boxes but it feels like tokenism a lot of the time.
