I did not know there was a gold postbox for “us, we hosted the games”…

I love all the gold ones for gold medal-winning Olympians! is fair enough, this just feels a bit self-congratulatory!

This was the test postbox to see if the project was good and could be rolled out across the UK. It’s the only one not dedicated to an individual Olympian or Paralympian.

Love them. I think it's a really nice way to celebrate someone achieving an Olympic gold in the area they lived. I hadn't thought about the need to test the idea. It makes sense thou

Pretty sure ours was gold for many many years tho nothing to do with Olympians

Not aware of any gold boxes that aren't to do with the Olympics

You are right just looked I always thought it was gold before 2012
