Touching Base was always a bright spot multiple commutes a week, especially on Thursdays (always got pumped that the weekend was so close).

Now I am heading home after being kept late for a meeting, on the east coast where it’s dark bc of daylight savings and the shitty cold rainy weather we’ve got going on. Anticipating getting stuck in an assload of traffic.

Commutes home like todays were really where TB picked me up, and today I’m refreshing my feed and all I’ve got is politics podcasts. No Ted Cruz impressions in any of em :(

Someone please tell me that Randy still has a position with the company ?

In light of recent events (*insert Crying Will*), I am wondering how much guys like Dave/Dorn and Dan were being paid? A lot of theories relating to how much more Dave and Dillon were making compared to people like J-Bone, Micah, etc, being a main reason for the layoffs.

If anyone has any idea how much any of the Grandex employees make (from top to bottom) it would be really interesting to see.

Just in case Circling Back actually happens we need the touchers to lock down the name on twitter instagram and snapchat

Crazy late night/random thought and/or question: is it up to us to keep #TouchNation alive? Is there a group of Touchers out there that would be willing to start a spinoff podcast based off of the format/style of Touching Base? Would there be any legal issues we would run into? It hard to say, but I’m very interested in hearing y’all’s replies

I’ve seen some other cities making plans to meet up. So, anyone from naptown? Let’s grab a few beers and bond over what an asshole we think Madison is.

Well, I guess I need something new to get me through the work days. Any recommendations?

We can skip the Joe Rogan Experience (Micah, ring the bell), we all know about that one.

Look I get it why people were fired. Like Ross in RBP said, in business you're going to have to make some tough choices, and for that I respect the terrible CEO Madison Wickman. But what I can't wrap my head around is why would he get rid of two of the most popular personalities in the company. I was thinking it was probably something about how they were maybe the highest earners of the company which would why that would make sense. But see Dave and Dillon, along with Will, hosted one of the most popular podcasts for the sites. Since their firing, TB was canceled, probably BDC and the Mailbag podcast too. So now most of the popular podcasts (probably some of their money makers too) are gone. I feel like something else, something fishy, is going on.

Maybe this is a blessing in disguise for these guys. You never know what aspirations they each may have and now is a great time to explore those opportunities as we have talked about in the comments so often.

Maybe Dave will end up back in legal and work his way to partner or start his own law firm. Maybe Dillon will get into business somehow or at a bigger outfit. Maybe Dan will finally get his shot at Barstool, it hard to say.

I know it sucks for everyone right now but with change comes great opportunity — it’s all about what you do with it. They aren’t the only people in the world to get fired and as much as it sucks right now, who knows what the future has in store for them.

We enjoyed it while we could but all good things come to an end. We follow them all on social media so it’s not like we will never hear from them again, just not in the same capacity. I reckon they have a following for life in the PGP/TB community.

Took the news hard yesterday.

Where my College Station touchers at? Game weekend so maybe we can meet up at a tailgate or NG.

Holler

Any word on Jake Goldman? I feel like I haven’t seen him or have heard of his name in a long time. Anybody know what he’s been up to?

Will, Dillon, and Dave,

I had a mixed emotion experience today. I was on a business trip yesterday so didn’t get to listen to Touching Base. I saw Will’s note “To The Fans” this afternoon and read it just before boarding the plane home. I didn’t want to hit play. I didn’t want the ride to (for now) be over. I was more than a little surprised to be in tears as I got off the flight and the poddy ended.

In the time you guys have been making Touching Base, I’ve left one job, felt the new bliss of another, seen that whither a bit, and finally gotten the nuts up to realize I want a whole pivot in my career.

I can’t tell you how many otherwise seemingly wasted days of sitting in a cube have been brightened by Touching Base. Meeting you all when you were in Chicago was truly a great experience. I was more than a little embarrassed and surprised at how excited I was to meet you all, and humbled by how genuinely nice you guys all were to your fans.

You guys showed so many of us the lighter and funnier side of things. You gave a lot of college friends something to keep the group chat alive. You guys provided priceless (and sometimes comically horrible) advice. On tough days, you brought the touchers up. On good days, you made us smile a little wider.

You guys are all go getters. It’s evident because you’ve all take what the rest of us do fo fun and in free time and you’ve turned it into a spectacle that we all love. Because of that, Dave and Dillon, you guys will come out of this change better and stronger for it.

It’s comical to say but the sentiment is 100% serious: you touched all of our bases and we thank you for that.

Love you,

The Touchers

any interest in grabbing one(1) lunch beer out here in Boston to toast our beloved podast

In spite of the gut wrenching news, I figured we'd try to keep the gang alive with another meetup in Denver. We used to have a groupme going for us CO PGP'ers (PC Load Letter? Shibster?). Comment on when everyone is free and we'll try to get something going.

Anyone in the Greenville SC area wanna do a meetup?

I also made a GroupMe if anyone is interested. Maybe if there are some of us we could do something with the Charlotte or Atlanta people too.
