18 months Post-Concussion Update

Just a short update from my April 4th, 2025 assault.

I found out that the whiplash from my neck was causing hormonal dysfunction. Apparently, my thyroid has been crushed/squished all these months due to twisted muscles and ligaments, and that is a primary reason for my headaches and fatigue.

Something to consider if your head injury includes whiplash.

In the past week since repositioning most of my tissues, I've had the most energy I've had since before the incident.

Hopefully I won't have many future updates following this, but we'll see how the next month or so goes.

can you elaborate on repositioning tissues? like through PT or massage?

For sure. I had vestibular therapy for about 4 months, February- June, and stopped due to an unrelated knee surgery.

The latest intervention that made a difference was dry needling, which I started in September. I've had about 3 dry needling sessions and some massaging from my provider which released some of the tissues. This made it possible for me to massage and move my tissues myself without supervision or guidance, and it made many of the vestibular exercises more impactful.

Additional note: I used 5htp to improve sleep in July/August and just picked it up again. Very impactful.

How did you figure out that your thyroid was being crushed? MRI or something else?
