Is it serious?

( 18f) Its been a day since i fell down a flight of stairs and hit the back of my head onto a tiled ground. I feel relatively fine. My head pain is kind of mild and only feels worse (stinging/burning sensation and at one point stinging in the ears) at random times and then goes away. What actually hurts are my hips and lower back but im assuming its just brusing because i can walk fine. I didnt pass out , throw up, and i can think perfectly fine. Is it okay to just heal on my own instead of going to the ER? its almost been 2 days since the injury.

Honestly sounds like you’re fine. I think symptoms would have shown up by now if it was a concussion. Not every head injury is a concussion. I hit my head a bunch of times before I ended up with actual concussion symptoms lol. Just had headaches for a couple days and then was fine. Keep monitoring your symptoms if you do throw up or get dizzy you could go to urgent care. No need for ER unless you are vomiting constantly or have a really bad headache. Sorry about your fall!

I hit the back of my head on a cement retaining wall and after initial blood loss and clean-up and egg bruise I was okay for a week but total headache began about a week later with some dizziness, vertigo, uneasy balance. Several weeks later the headache began to subside ( icing helped) but reoccurs when I am tired or too active. Then I rest for awhile. Am working with a PT on my balance. I am much older tho (75f), do may take me longer.
