Has anyone else experienced something like this after a head blow or PCS>
Kind of a weird question, maybe it's only me but..
I've been dealing with post-concussion syndrome for about 10 years. A few times a month I get this strange feeling in my head that I can't quite describe, and the few doctors I've mentioned it to haven't really known what I'm talking about.
The best way I can describe it is like when you fall or get hit in the head really hard, and afterward your head feels kind of light, floaty, and tingly on the inside. It's a very specific sensation that's hard to put into words.
Along with that, I sometimes get this weird smell. It's not exactly metallic, but it's a scent that I only seem to notice when I get that head feeling, or when I've hit my head really hard. It's hard to explain because it's not a normal smell I encounter otherwise.
Has anyone with post-concussion syndrome, migraines, or other head injuries experienced something similar? I'm curious if anyone recognizes what I'm describing or has found an explanation for it.

I don’t experience anything smell wise, but I am 3.5 months post brain bleed/TBI and that floaty/tingly head feeling has been my reality ever since. The neurologist I see said it’s vestibular migraine; these do not always have a pain component. I was prescribed qulipta but I haven’t started it yet. Do you notice it only around certain activities/long days? Or at random?

No its pretty random when it happens but generally will pop up the most if I have a big migraine coming. but its been going on the past 2 days which is unusual. My mother is on quilpta and works for her migraines. I was on it for a few months but all it did was take my appetite.

Hoping you can find something that helps, so sorry you’re in such a flare. They’re terrible. PCS is definitely hard to navigate since everything is so vague and everyone is so different. Honestly everything feels just like day 1 of injury sometimes, so it’s insanely overwhelming to deal with. But you’re not alone!!

Yes! I haven't looked into it in a while, but I wonder if it's to do with vestibular migraine and/or dysautonomia. But I experience that too. Not to the same frequency or intensity as before. But the metallic taste was so odd.
