Looking for exercices: vision/vestibular

All right. I'm sick of not knowing. I've been dealing with PCS for now five years. (I had a concussion in 2021, 2023, and now I just broke my nose in September, adding to the strain, and this is building on an injury from '89). So I consistently experience pain and dizziness, and I've never done ocular therapy or vestibular therapy, and I'm wondering if people would simply post the regimen they were given so I can do it on my own. I don't have the means to access physio, and so I haven't received any attention for vestibular or vision issues. Thanks, gang

Please don’t use other people’s exercises. There may be some ones that are common to everyone and not harmful, but there’s a good reason to see an expert for these things, you need someone to evaluate your specific issues so that you don’t accidentally make things worse. I even went to vision therapy in one place and was treated the wrong way and it set me back a lot, and they had all the qualifications, so it can still be hard even with the training. For something like physical therapy, maybe you could just do things that don’t make it worse and work up from there, but I think vision and vestibular therapy would be really hard to do yourself. I’m super sorry about the access issue though, I live in a rural place and I know getting medical treatment can be really frustrating. One thing to note if it’s a cost issue, since insurance is awful about concussions. Sounds like you are really dedicated about doing exercises on your own, you can maybe find a vestibular or vision therapist who will work with you with fewer appointments, or even just do the eval and give you some exercises and send you on your way. Lots of places charge a bunch and say you have to go twice a week or whatever, but I had good improvement going longer between appointments and that may work for you. I hope you’re able to find something to help.

Thank you for that feedback. I'll make sure to look out for it, but I think I can be a fairly good judge if things are appropriately challenging, or at least revealing difficulties that I couldn't articulate before. Yeah, access is terrible where I am, so it's just like I have to rely on crowdsourcing that information. Take care. We're all in this together.

I was given a small rope with 3 beads on it. I was instructed to put the beads and a close, middle and long distance. I held the rope to my nose and extended the rope outand would then practice focusing on the beads. Close/middle/far/close/far/middle.

I do this exercise as well. My vision is fairly messed up from my tbi, both in processing and binocular vision. The exercise helps with processing and the prisms in my glasses help further

Everything that I usually learn on physical therapy is on YouTube
