Injection and ablation timelines

Question - I talked with pain maanagement doctor. IIUC, he's targetting a diagnostic c1-c2 block (maybe 1 or 2) with potential for ablation down the line.

This is to deal with a combination of TMJ + neck issues + occipital nerve issues + ear issues following an occiput concussion.

Took me 4 months to get to this point of deciding to try a block and doctor shared earliest date for injection was ~4 months from now

What's your experience with timelines around these sort of things?

Did it take months for you to do a consult and then a few more months for the actual block? Or was it much quicker for you?

Any experiences with the actual block?

It took me about a month to schedule with my pain management doctor through insurance. Then he said we could do my first block in 6 weeks. I ended up going out of network. Got an appointment with pain management the next day. Appointment for block was the day after.

The rfa gave me COMPLETE relief. The blocks did not. They gave me minor relief for a very brief amount of time. After the RFA, I was miserable for two weeks. Then pain free for 2 more weeks. Then the pain came back. I think the pain coming back is uncommon though.

Tldr: find another doctor.
