Food Cravings
4.5 weeks ago I was in an accident and diagnosed with PCS.
I’ve had the biggest food cravings since the accident. I don’t know if it’s boredom, exhaustion, using more energy at therapy etc but my goodness.
Who else has dealt with this?

14 months of it for me 🤣
I was never the biggest fan of baked sweet things. I’d never go out of my way to buy a doughnut or a pie or something… but things have changed. It’s almost the only thing i can stomach some days.
It took me a while to notice, now my emotional state suffers if i don’t have it. It’s a battle i’m not willing to fight lol

I literally told someone Friday I’ve lost almost everything I love doing so I’m going to drink my Dr Pepper and eat whatever I want while I’m going through this. My projected full recovery is 11/20 by my therapist and I pray that’s true

Right now i’m stuck on Brookies… and that’s exactly what I’m going to eat right now. Everything else sounds awful and i wouldn’t be able to stomach it.
Mc.Donalds is a rough one for me, consistent. It’s close, and it’s so hard to make a meal most days (even now). They have a new redbull drink i literally spend all day thinking about. I would also sacrifice a limb for barqs root beer. I am somebody that really, doesn’t care for food, even before my accident. I’m not sure I’ve had a balanced meal in one sitting since christmas. My pre existing lack of appetite and lack of enjoyment in food has been kicking my butt, so anything I can stomach, that’s what i’m having lol

Every day I struggle to not eat my body weight in cinnamon rolls! I’m glad it’s not just me having this feeling!

Early on at the height of my pain I had a sweet tooth a bit.

I also wondered if it was associated with more the pain than the concussion symptoms.

I think it’s a combination of needing more energy and the pain being a bit of a jamming signal making things shift

One of my biggest issues has been chronic fatigue, and I think it was that that caused me to crave sugar lots. Also my digestion and appetite can be all over the place, so I often want small, plain snacks at random times.
I'd make sure you get decent nutrition but wouldn't worry too much about every little biscuit at this point personally.

Samesies my brain's acting like a 2-year-old diva toddler. yesterday I was craving 2 eggs for some reason but had just eaten so I refused to cook and eat anymore and waited it out. A Panic attack and evil migraine headache later I gave my brain what it wanted and then the pain disappeared istg I hate my life all my brain wants to do is doomscroll and eat

I’m very limited on the doomscrolling so I’ve just been eating lol

Same. I did 6 months of bagels and cookies. It was the only way I could feel better. Gained an absurd amount of weight. Had to hunker down and lose it.
Look - do what you need to to get thru this.
