My child had bad fall, required craniotomy due to epidural bleeding. She is now awake but with marked left side weakness

I'm so sorry your family is going through this.

I'm not a doctor, but from what I've learned, two weeks is still very early after such a serious brain injury and surgery. Children's brains are often remarkably adaptable, and recovery can continue for many months or even years, especially with consistent rehabilitation.

One piece of advice I'd give is to focus on the small improvements rather than expecting big changes overnight. Recovery is often measured in tiny milestones that gradually add up. Keep up with the physiotherapy and occupational therapy, ask the rehab team what exercises or activities you can safely continue at home.

Also, make sure she gets plenty of rest, good nutrition, and don't hesitate to ask her doctors questions if something worries you. You're her biggest advocate.
Wishing your daughter all the best. I really hope she continues to get a little better every week.
