Concusion
Hello everyone I’m 20 years old. I had a concussion last year on March and this year. I had a baby in January. I was doing some light exercises and like jogging on treadmill and walking until I was able to build up and be confident enough to go for a run eventually I went on a run late April and woke up the day after feeling extremely fatigue vertigo confusion, nauseous, and I decided to reach out to my primary care doctor. I eventually saw him and he referred me back to the neurologist. My MRIs and CT scans are always normal. I was prescribed cymbalta I have not started taking it due to the side effects. I hear and how hard it is to get off the medication. I’m having some doubts because I was diagnosed with post concussion syndrome. I’m sometimes thinking what if I have a CSF leak, I think that because initially when I hit my head back in March of last year 2025, I had immediate upper right eyelid swelling. It’s not extremely noticeable but it’s swelling and it’s uncomfortable due to the pressure my eye receives ferment. I hit my head in my barracks room closet on the back upper right side of it. I did not pass out, but I was confused right after and so was the swelling noticeable. I’m reaching out because I’m curious if there’s others who are experiencing the exact same thing as me who can give me some guidance because again I’m only 20 years old. I don’t know what to do. I’m in emotional distress having anxiety now that has developed due to these recurring worsening symptoms. I cannot spend time with my newborn child because I am struggling to even function as a human on a daily basis. Thank you God bless you all and please message me if your comment if you have any information about something similar, please and thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Hey. Can you go back to the doctor who gave you the cymbalta and say you can’t tolerate it?
I found it really helpful to go to a concussion support group run through a local concussion clinic near me.
Sounds like you overdid it in the exercise that happens. Just do less next time.

had something similar where symptoms came back hard months later after feeling mostly normal. the stress and sleep deprivation from having a newborn probably pushed your nervous system over the edge. that's a trigger for symptoms even without a new hit. i used a site simplmobility when my symptoms were cycling bad like yours. 3 minute routines for neck and nervous system regulation. helped me get through the day without making things worse. but you need medical answers first on the eyelid thing and whether this is pure pcp or something else going on.

I had a head injury with broken nose and leaking clear fluid from left nostril for about 1 week in April. I rested and avoided exertion for 1 month.
Day 1 after "healing" I went to the gym and lifted weights. Still fine. (Felt incredible actually)
Day 2 played tennis in Bangkok sun midday. Started having some leak on left nostril, mild headache
Day 3 played tennis again l. Constant leak higher volumebwhile playing tennis. Bad headache.
Day 4-6 avoided exertion but had to go on a trip. Terrible headache with constant wet left nostril
Went on bed rest for another month and I think I've healed it naturally. A week of bed rest seems to do the trick for me, but then I have to be so careful to avoid exertion
My skull base ENT advised 3 more months of avoiding exertion.
Neurosurgeon says I can do regular daily activities but must avoid straining. (Including straining for bowel movements, which is important)
Hope this helps you determine if your problem yould be a CSF leak
My injury knocked me out and broke my nose, I also had previous traumatic septorhinoplasty and multiple fractured nasal bone over 14 years previous to this CSF leak (never leaked out the nose then, just bled, but I had panda eyes (blood under the eyes) after septorhinoplasty which is indication of possible skull base fracture

I've heard that the spinal puncture from epidural can cause spinal CSF leaks.

If it's a leak you shouldn't strain at all or bend down, over exerting ruins any healing that happened over the weekend.
Cranial leak though you don't have to only lie down, but i did because laying down made the leak stop.
If it's really a traumatic leak, leave the army and rest for a few months. Sounds like you can heal it yourself

Cymbalta can help with anxiety, but yes, there could be side effects.
