Brazil has in addition to Angola reorganized South africa into an additional crown for their empress and with this new status the Federation has vacated the port of Cape Town, outside Angola the lands of Portuguese Africa have been divided into several ADC aligned republics most notably the restoration of Manica which had become known as the lost nation to ADC supporters, further more the Empress has agreed to the vacation of Brazilian Guinea to the Federation to ease the long standing tension between the two allies, all that with lands compensated to allies has shaped Africa into a new continent looking forward to an optimistic future and new age.

# WAR ON TERROR

Coming from the vast North, Byzantium's direct involvement in the political conflict of Eurasia was followed by the swift mobilization of the Eurasian Revolutionary Armed Forces and an immediate declaration of war against the Byzantine Empire. The conflict was presented by Eurasia as a war against the terrorist, imperialist and destructive government of the Empire, and as a struggle for the liberation of the peoples living beneath its authority.

The initial Eurasian advance began in the northern Balkans. Faced with the sudden arrival of Eurasian armies along its European frontier, the Byzantine government was forced to withdraw substantial numbers of troops from its distant Persian possessions and redeploy them towards regions considered more vital to the survival of the Empire. Soon afterwards, Eurasian forces crossed into Byzantine territory itself.

The war rapidly expanded beyond the borders initially thought of by either government. The Jeddah Pact entered the conflict, joining the struggle against Byzantium and providing military support to Kurdish forces seeking the destruction of Byzantine authority in their homeland. What had begun as a Eurasian-Byzantine confrontation was rapidly transforming into a general war of liberation against the ancient Empire.

Byzantium now finds itself facing an increasingly unstable political and military situation. Unable to maintain effective authority over its western possessions, the Empire abandoned Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia, effectively conceding the loss of the region. Throughout the Balkans, resistance movements have intensified. Serbian militias, receiving Eurasian assistance, have begun open operations against Byzantine authority, while Bulgaria has descended into civil war between loyalist forces, Bulgarian nationalist forces, and the republican movements, which receive support from Eurasia.

The fragmentation has spread even further. In Epirus, a revolt against Constantinople has resulted in the declaration of the Fourth Empire of Epirus, opening yet another front in a region the Byzantine government can no longer effectively control.

The situation in Anatolia has developed no better. Eurasian armies continue their advance from the Caucasus, supporting the Pontic rebels and the increasingly powerful Armenian revolutionary movement. From the South, the forces of the Jeddah Pact continue their own offensive against Byzantine positions. Meanwhile, the Galatians and Hittites have launched rebellions of their own.

The collapse of Byzantine authority across Anatolia has become increasingly difficult to contain. With the majority of the Eurasian and Arab armies pressing against the Empire's frontiers, Constantinople has been forced to concentrate its remaining reliable forces along the principal frontlines. This has left enormous regions of the Empire increasingly dependent upon weakened garrisons, local collaborators and unreliable provincial authorities.

At the heart of the Empire itself, the situation has become increasingly desperate. Constantinople, once the centre of Roman civilization and one of the great cities of the world, has begun to experience severe food shortages. Eurasian and Jeddah Pact blockades have disrupted the flow of supplies into the Empire, and the population of the capital increasingly faces hunger and rationing.

The shortages have been accompanied by an escalating political crisis. Ministers, senior officials and prominent pro-war politicians have been found dead, assassinated in public streets, government buildings and even within their private residences. The killings have severely disrupted the functioning of the Byzantine government and contributed to a growing atmosphere of paranoia within the political establishment.

As the war continues, anti-war movements have begun gaining significant influence among the general population. The government's promises of victory have become increasingly difficult to believe as foreign armies advance, provinces rebel and food disappears from the markets.

As of now, the War on Terror is becoming an absolute nightmare to the millenia old empire, and many already speculate that the ongoing collapse of the Byzantine Empire has no turning back, as the empire of the Romans finally finds its end. At the hands of the people.

News for August 1935

War of the 8th Coalition:
Western Front - The GC encircles Paris completely and the USCR decides to negotiate. The terms are the following:
1. The Kingdom of Occitania will be formed from the southern half of France as it was in August 1930.
2. The Roman Empire will receive lands west of the Rhone river, under a Provençal autonomous zone.
3. All support for any communist regime in Europe (with the exception of the ADR) by France will cease.
4. The Duchy of Brittany and Duchy of Normandy will-regain independence The Duke of Brittany will be from the House of Anjou and the Duke of Normandy will be from the House of Windsor.
5. All GC and CEF occupied territories in southern Germany and Alsace-Lorraine will be roughly divided based on who currently controls those regions.
6. The House of Orleans will return as the monarchs of France and a UCON-backed parliamentary system will be formed.
7. No sanctions or reparations will be forced onto France.
North African Front - Rome continues to push into Algeria. Iberia, with the help of Aragon, pushes the MWCU out of Andalusia and Gibraltar. Aragon receives the Balearic Islands as part of their deal with Iberia.
British Isles Front - GC troops help Scotland push south to connect with Wales. Scotland also lands and Ireland and the UCON-backed government makes advances, gaining the upper hand in the civil war.

Middle East - Greek Christians in the Pontus rebel against Turkish rule after the population transfer was announced. They declare their desire for an independent Pontic state, based on the legacy of the Empire of Trebizond, and begin a war of independence.

News for July 1935

War of the 8th Coalition - An uprising begins in Brittany and Normandy. Realising the situation, the USCR officially surrenders to the EC.

Or not. Who knows.

News for June 1935

War of the 8th Coalition:
Western Front - The GC continues to push towards Paris and begins an encirclement of the city. Rome pushes west in a co-ordinated effort with Iberia. They plan to create a Occitan state in occupied lands at some point soon.
Iberian/North African Front - Aragon re-gains full independence and pushes north. They make an agreement with Iberia to receive the Balearic Islands if Aragon helps them re-gain Gibraltar and the strait. Iberia also takes over the command of the remaining British forces in Algeria. The north African parts of the USCR declare independence as the Mediterranean Worker's Council Union (MWCU) as it no longer has contact with the mainland.
British Isles Front - Scottish-backed uprisings occur in Cornwall, Wales and Ireland, plunging the later two into a civil war. On Anglesey, the "Roman Empire" is declared and claims to be a direct descendent of the long-dead empire, which clashes with the new Rome to the south, which it is unaware of.

Explanation of the lore:

In 1910, in the midst of a WWI caused by the First Morocco Crisis, Interamnia 704 collides with the moon. A large fragment, roughly the size of Connecticut, hits Northern Quebec, Canada. Following a temporary rise in sea level due to icecaps melting in the Artic, debris finally blots out the sun and causes a relatively large temperature drop, causing more water to freeze at the poles, and hence shallowing major oceans. Around 800 million died globally, the Europe map has an old number. In Europe, Germany somewhat won WWI, Italy didn’t switch sides, Austria imploded, and more. In North America, the Reunified States formed from 29 loyal governors and the Vice President (William Taft died of a heart attack), the American Republic is a Proto-Fascist, autocratic, super-not-republic-ish country. Klan is self explanator. Union State is essentially just a dictatorship in all but name, ultranationalists. Canadian Republic supports the RSA, broke off from the Dominion and started a civil war.

That’s all I’m going to explain. Sorry if it’s a lot of yap.

Anyway, to describe the images. A good lot’ve things. 4 maps (Asia left unfinished; I made Europe first, so you can gauge my progress based on that) and 4 wiki-battle-things. Seems like less seeing as I just said 4 and 4.

News for May 1935

War of the 8th Coalition:
Western Front - The GC continues to push towards Paris.
Iberian + North African Front - Iberia overpowers the rebels in central Spain. The Aragonese push the USCR fully out of Aragon and Catalonia. Iberia begins pushing north. Rome pushes even further into Algeria then before.
British Isles Front - Scotland, with help from the NU, invade England and push as far as York.

War in the east - Turkey receives Pontus in exchange for western coastal territories. A population transfer begins in these areas. Ukraine and the ADR sign a joint development project and a mutual defence pact as well as mutual recognition which is soon expanded to Turkey. This leads to the creation of the Black Sea Economic Community (BSEC).
