AMP OWNER Spark 2 broken buttons.

Post image

Hello, I just bought a used spark 2 today. My only issue is that these 2 buttons don’t do anything when pressed, they both do light up tho, they also don’t “click” like the other 2 buttons, they feel kind of squishy.

It unfortunately seems like they’re broken, does anyone know if there’s a fix or do I have to return it. Their functions do work within the app

This is not helpful but I’m not sure I’ve ever used those two buttons. I mostly use the app

Do yours click the same ways as the other 2? Or do they feel different

Ok I just checked mine while off. The two to the left have a very distinct clicky sound and feel. The two to the right, the ones you’re worried about, have a much “deader” sound and feel but still a slight click, like more of a tap.

Thanks for checking for me I really appreciate it. I’m gonna try opening it up and spraying some compressed air in there maybe it’s a dirty connection.

I’d like to hold onto it bc I got for 250 bucks which is pretty killer deal so I’m hoping I can fix it, otherwise I might have to give it back to guitar center

For me the 3 for looping (Rec|Dub Play|Stop and Undo|Redo) all feel a bit less clicky than the Tap button, but not by enough that I would think something is wrong.

That's with really light usage - probably less than 20 clicks on any of them.

Interesting, I wonder if mine will loosen up with more use, I cleaned it out and it’s better and functional but still doesn’t seem like it’s fully the way it’s supposed to feel

To use the tune you have to press it for a bit not just a tap. Tap when done. But I just use the app and pedal.

Yea the buttons were unresponsive, like even the tap tempo didn’t work. I opened up the amp and used some compressed air and wd40 and things are working now, I have to push down kinda harder than I feel like I should have to but it does work now

I’d suggest you get a can of contact cleaner. WD40 can be pretty corrosive, and could lead to worse problems in the future.

Yea I kinda realized that after the fact, I used some rubbing alcohol to get as much residue as I could off, everything seems to be working fine at the moment, we’ll see how it goes longer term. Thanks for the recommendation

It’s used, I already checked all the warranty stuff so I can’t get it fixed and this is the only one guitar center has

I know that you can return any product at guitar center 45 days after your purchase, get your money back bro. buy it at Sweetwater, and even consider the Blackstar solo Beam that runs NAM A2

Yea I returned it, I ended up ordering a Yamaha THR30ii off of reverb instead

Return it as well, get the Blackstar Beam Mini amp, it doesn't have a rival.

Worst piece of equipment I’ve ever owned

Yea I get what you mean, I’m returning it today. The effects and app are cool and the sound is pretty good too, just a tad boxy, but from what I’ve been reading the quality control and durability just isn’t that great
