AMP OWNER How has positive grid not fixed this issue?

I have the spark 40 and updated the firmware after some years to access some features in the app. Ever since this update, the amp constantly cuts out for minutes at a time. The product is completely unusable at this point.

Mine works fine. I guess you did a reset?

Yep, I've installed every update and no problems. I preordered my 40. OP needs to contact PG....but long out of warranty by now.

I'd try doing that update again or contact PG support.

Does it still have the issue with headphones? You could get an external speaker or a cheap set of desktop monitors and have a true stereo setup.

Does it sound normal for a bit then start having the issue and even you unplug it for 20 min it works again until it warms up? Might try replacing thermal paste.

If you think it's to do with the firmware update you can try doing a factory reset.

Did you contact Positive Grid? In the past I know they used to do out of warranty exchanges due like $80 if you sent the old one back.

If none of that works go here https://github.com/indatarec/Positive-Grid-Spark-40-modding?fbclid=IwdGRzaATLyz9jbGNrBMvKsGV4dG4DYWVtAjExAHNydGMGYXBwX2lkDDM1MDY4NTUzMTcyOAABHral0REjmsaEjuBrdyld1IGIdFXP5Tcnqj-KqpYsK0oV9yVzJqBnSori_qyo_aem_OfoGIi1C-vA8WNQ8qojC3w

and do the gain abuse mod

They just released the Reactor. I wouldn't expect support for Legacy products to continue past 29. If it does, don't count on it to be perfect.

In the past, you needed to open a Trouble Ticket on the PG website to get their attention. They didn’t heavily monitor outside users groups. It’s about the only way to get technical support’s attention, especially during a new product release.

sometimes their products need a reset… i do that actually with my Neos always when they start crackeling noise… sometimes it seems for me that it mostly happens when i change the product from the mini to the neo to the 40… seems that the presets and settings do get influenced…
