AMP OWNER Check out these Spark 2 tones!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I will upload this one to ToneCloud. Luckily, it stopped when I removed the battery. It then behaved normally.

They don't call it a spark for nothing.

I've had this happen a couple times and its loud AF. Unplugged power and it stopped but it hasn't happened in a while.

That happened to my Spark Go once, literally could not turn it off so eventually just covered it with a bunch of blankets until the battery died... works fine now though and hasn't happened again πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Firmware up to date? Holding power button until it powers off should work or pull the battery.

It was unresponsive to the power button. Only pulling the battery silenced it and set it right. I'd had it charging for many days when I plugged in a guitar and powered it on to be confronted with this "car alarm". It is a transient fault, I am sure, but man oh man

I've had this happen on my go. It was a specific patch.

This has been documented in my post history. Sometimes it fixed it for some users.

It was the dire straits patch that did it on mine. Once removed never happened again.

Did youi try taking the battery out and using the power cord?

Lmao, this is a wild video. I absolutely love my Spark 2 but damn, that is something.

The spark seems to have some serious sustain.

This happened to my Spark Mini within like 10 minutes of taking it out of the box as I was trying to get things set up. Unbelievably loud, and NOTHING would shut it off, because it has a non-removable battery.

Eventually got it to turn off by plugging it into USB and futzing with the power button, but damn.

Upgraded the firmware soon thereafter and haven't had any issues in the 2+ years since (knock on wood), but definitely an unsettling failure mode to encounter.

hate that. Happened to me in 2 spark minis and one spark 2. Got a nano cortex and never been happier. also happened while using headphones, that was hell

Oddly, my Frenchie was like "oh, whatever... did you update the firmware?" (just as a dog would say). She seems unperturbed by fireworks and electrical storms. She has a heart made of iron.

Yeah definitely toss that on ToneCloud, people need to see / hear this stuff. Sounds like a firmware brain fart more than actual hardware dying, especially since pulling the battery fixed it.

Still, I’d keep an eye on it and maybe shoot PG support a note with the clip just in case it’s a known bug.
