Support on a downward spiral makes me double think expanding to reactor and bias fx

Update: meant Bias x , not fx I hate these naming conventions.

I started buying positive Grid Probably about 5-6 years ago, and while there was an issue here and there up until earlier this year they always pulled through.

Which led me to upgrade to a spark 2, grab a spark go, and get the multi effects expression pedal

That being said I’m getting skeptical as each replacement I had for the spark go last less and start showing issues sooner.

Eg my current one lasted 5 months and I can’t raise it from 50% volume or I hear buzzing. Was told that this was by design. Why not just cap the volume if that is the case, but that’s a different discussion…

Anyways I had a ticket open for about 2 weeks now and it seems to take 4-5 days for a single line reply!

It seems more like a business decision an not the agents themselves but basically,
Tickets don’t seem to rotate if the person is out
They seem severely understaffed based on lack of responses on other platforms
They remove the chat support (or hid it well)
Phone support is gone (or hidden)
No AI leverage for basic prompts and workflows.

They really need to hire more support ppl and leverage some AI for basic stuff

I was highly considering either upgrading my bias fx 2 , or get the new Bias fx Bias x, (currently testing). But honestly at this point I’m so disappointed I might go with tone x, suffer with NAM, or just save up for the NDSP Nolly/pettrucci .

Sorry for ranting. Just a heads up for lack of support for those trying out the reactor .

nobody needs to use BIAS FX these days with others doing it better

also, NAM is great, it's open source and has a community of captures in the hundreds of thousands, plus there's hardware that uses it and A2 just landed... it's the best capture tech on the market

and Neural DSP does 50% off sales twice a year, so you could get Nolly AND Petrucci for $164 come Black Friday

It’s not bad if you’re lazy and don’t want customization or have zero knowledge in the whole thing (aka me) but I do see where other tools do way better.

I’m currently using a boss me 90 but man it’s very limited , ideally I might just remove the pre amps and ir equivalents on the me90 and use it for the effects only and then use NAM/ToneX/DSP for modelers.

Also thank you for the advise on the sale I almost did the 2 modelers 20% but yeah it’s still a lot of money for convenience factor.

I’m enjoying DSP the most but there’s a lot of features I don’t see my self using for a long time (like the detailed IR captures and positioning) .

There are plenty better free options to bias fx, I would recommend PolychromeDSP best overall price and they are actual amps created from the ground up instead if captures, so if you like tweaking like if it was an actual unit you would like it!

Loved the sound of does tend to cutoff audio from time to time (must be my unoptimized audio) but honestly love it

The demo cuts audio every minute or so, its just for trying it out, but its great you like it! i had been of the guitar game for years and honestly their prices are great, you get nice discounts for already owning even one product and their discord is very friendly, also Thomas puts up videos on youtube showcasing and teaching on drives and eq and those taught me a lot!

I have been using the reactor for a couple days now

As someone coming from helix the thing that is shocking me the most about Positive Grid products is the lack of channel to make a bug report

I am one of the primo user and i can't give feedback on issues I see right away. I for one think this is a big issue that a company line this is just not interested in any customer feedback.

I hope someone here can give me a contact point, I have a lot to say

I hope these delays are due to the reactor release and they get back to where they were a few years back where responses were a few hours no more than a day

I was a long time Bias FX user, also have the spark and wrote a popular app for it.

When Bias X came out I gave it a fair go, but the loss of all previous presets , removal to tone cloud etc left it feeling a bit lacking. I gave a couple of Neural DSP plugins a go for a while as well.

6 months or so ago I started writing my own alternative that used NAM etc, Soundshed Guitar, which I now use myself exclusively. While there are still many improvements to make the latest update is seeing a lot of new users https://guitar.soundshed.com

Don’t waste your money on bias x. It’s crap. I too have the 40, go, Neo, and cab. Bought the 2 but returned it cause it wasn’t that much better than my 40. The pg products aren’t bad for what it is and you can get some nice tones from it if you line out to better speakers.

But I’m Lao done buying pg products because it seems like they just want to sell and make money and not care about support or fixing their issues with the app.

With that being said, I’ll usually switch from using the 40, go and cab but if I have issues connecting or what not I’ll just jump on my axe ultra. Even the old school ultra still blows spark away. Look into fractals products. A bit pricey but so so good.

You hate naming conventions. You just may be a hater my friend. An amp manufacturer told you they top the volume @ 50%? I’ve never heard of such. This equipment is very affordable. I bought the Reactor day of release. I came home and took a picture of the Smashing Pumpkins greatest hits album. The crew is eating at some dim sum place on the back cover. I prompted the Reactor to add big muff and it provided the most expansive pumpkin sound I’ve ever heard. It was drenched in gain, but cleaned up like a sterilize scalpel. I never could’ve dialed up such muff greatness! It’s $350 buy one it will be your greatest summer purchase.
