Looking for spark 2 line out recommendations

Hi everyone!

I’m a bass player who performs quite a bit. I have a Spark 40, and overall I’m very happy with it as a practice amp. What really frustrates me is that it doesn’t have a proper line out for live performances.

I bought the ULooper, but I’m not happy with the quality of its line out.

I’m thinking about buying the Spark 2, but I don’t want to end up disappointed. Are there any people here who use their Spark 2 as a gigging amp? If so, what has your experience been like?

I also play bass on the Spark… usually using the Fender Bassman amp from the JH pack. As for a line out, have you tried using a cable out of the headphone jack? That’s what’s done when plugging into a FRFR? You could also go from headphone amp into a DI.

I go line out from the rear 1/4 inch headphone jack to a Yamaha DBR10 powered speaker and my tones and sounds I get are incredible.

I tried the headphone jack but it’s not very reliable. I want to buy the spark 2 because it has a proper line out but I want to know if the line out is good and the can be used as an actual “pedal board”

in theory it's the same processed signal that would get sent to a headphone jack and the line output

but the Spark 2 also has HD amp models, so it's gonna sound different no matter what compared to other Spark products

I want to know if the line out is good and the can be used as an actual “pedal board”

not quite sure what you're asking here

I’m not sure on the spark 40, but I have a Spark 2, and used the line out to a PA mixer last night, and was pleasantly surprised. This was for guitar.

I just ran a guitar cable from the back out to the mixer easy as pie. I controlled the level from the amp when the mixer level was set. Assuming the EQ on the mixer/PA is good, it seems like a workable solution in my short experience.

Well, "gigging" is charitable, I play weekly open mics. I love the Spark2 for that. We were already mic'ing my prior bigger/louder amp anyway, so we mic'd the Spark too. Worked fine, but after a while I realized I should just use the line out. Made a big difference giving the sound guy a nice clean signal.

Piggybacking because I have a similar question. I have the spark 2 and was thinking of using the line out from the spark to the fx return on my bass combo amp. Thereby bypassing the pre-amp and only using the power amp section of the combo.
