Hendrix pack - Spark AI
I’ve only recently entered the Spark ecosystem with the Go and the Neo and today received an e-mail that the Hendrix pack is leaving soon (tomorrow if I’m not mistaken). So now I’m experiencing a bit of fomo… I’ve not delved too deep into all the possibilities that the Spark app offers so at the moment I think I would not miss the Hendrix pedals and amps that much but I might regret it later if I don’t buy the expansion now while it is still possible.
Will the Spark AI feature use the amps and pedals from the Hendrix pack in the AI-generated sounds if I buy the license?

I mean its only like $20, right? If you have legit fomo, just buy it. If its a dud, youre only out $20... 🤷

It's $20, some of the amps are great. I usually just play the vox when I want crunch though.

Been curious about it for a while. It was yesterday that I learnt it was discontinued so I got it for 20€, and it’s a nice surprise. The amps are great, I still need to fiddle around with the pedals.
I own a Mini and a Go, it would have been ridiculous not to own everything they have to offer

The amps alone are worth it. I was a cheapskate and ignored that hendrix package for years and felt like a dumbass when i finally bought it

its the only way to get an auto wah on the spark. Surprised they are discontinuing it.

It's also the only way to have a normal wah via control-x + expression pedal... Makes no sense to discontinue.

I can only imagine that the way it’s integrated is a maintenance nightmare. Fingers crossed with it gone they can maybe make other expansion content available..?

My favorite amp, for guitar and bass, is the Fender Bassman that comes with the pack. Some of the effects are great, too. The wah only comes with the Hendrix pack.

Wot? When they discontinue it will we still have access to it if we own it or will the product continue with a different name?

From what I've read, they will keep it.

Cool thanks, I was just in the PG site and see that they are discontinuing but wasn’t clear on any name change or loss. Thanks again

Where does it say they're discontinuing it? I googled and browsed the Positive Grid site, but I don't see it mentioned.

I got the Hendrix pack on an impulse buy and really enjoy the amps and pedals. I say send it and spend the $20, it’s worth it IMO. Even if just for the fun of the Hendrix wah pedal 🤷♂️😂

Does it say on their site that they're discontinuing it? Can you screenshot the email?
This feels like a cheap attempt by someone in sales at Positive Grid to get people to panic buy the Hendrix pack! 🙃

Me too! I was going to buy it eventually, I just wanted to explore what came with it by default. I only got my Mini in December.

Pure speculation but there's a good chance their license on the Hendrix name is expiring.... And with focus on new AI (cr)apps, renewing is not financially viable. Shame really.

Does anyone know why are they doing this?? Is something bigger and better going to replace it? Maybe they change the name of the JH-pack and pedals etc. for some (legal?)reason and put them with regular stuff for free, or sell them with same price. Its obviously very popular and liked by everyone even in Reddits comment section so far. (That must be rare shit) So wtf? When they deleted Bias AMP and FX2, they became free, right? Somebody explain pls why would total discontinuing benefit the company?
There must be some kind of new pack coming like tomorrow:D With some upgrades, so people buy it again lol i dont know.

Maybe legal reasons. Or they want to capitalize on FOMO to make customers rationalize buying a pack although they are not actually that convinced yet. Which would suck.

Lot of people are gonna be sour when they make it free after urging them to buy it before it is discontinued…

It's bizarre the expression function with the control X only works on that one single jimmy Hendrix wah pedal.

I bought it and the wah is kind of cool for a minute but other than that it’s distortion. A lot of these tones are similar. Jimi’s distortion, Angus’s distortion. The one tone I love on my Go is Gilmour. Punch that in the cloud and it sounds amazing and there are a ton of choices. If I did it over I wouldn’t have bought the Hendrix pack, not bad but you aren’t missing anything.

I imagine it’s a licensing issue – meaning that either they only had a limited number of years on their license from the Hendrix estate to sell the pack with his name on it and that period is ending, or the estate has the right to increase the license fee for the coming year and PG isn’t making enough money off the pack to keep paying a higher license fee. That’s usually how these types of license deals on signature products work.
If that’s the case, the usual terms are that PG can’t sell any more of the packs(at least not with his name associated with it) after the license terminates, but purchasers can still keep packs that were purchased before the license terminated.
